Fits Rowenta EP8002, EP8012, EP8020, EP8021 epilators; replaces OEM part 1UR18500Y.
3.7V 1600mAh Li-ion cell delivers steady power to the rotating disc mechanism throughout treatment cycles.
Cylindrical cell slides into the battery tube with spring-loaded contacts at the base; no locking tab.
We bench-tested this pack in an EP8002 dock — BMS accepted charge immediately, discharged flat without cutoff errors.
After use near water or steam, dry the charging port contact pins completely before docking; moisture on the contacts triggers a protection fault that mimics a dead battery.

Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Rowenta EP8002 Series — 3.7V Li-ion Replacement Battery (1UR18500Y)

This is a 3.7V, 1600mAh Li-ion battery built to OEM part number 1UR18500Y. It fits the Rowenta EP8002, EP8012, EP8020, EP8021, and over 37 additional models in the same epilator line. When the original cell degrades and the device loses cordless run capacity, this cell restores full motor power to the rotating disc mechanism.

  • EP8000 series compatibility: These models share a common 3.7V single-cell architecture, the same physical cell format (18500 cylindrical), and matching BMS handshake thresholds. One cell covers the entire range without modification.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this cell through charge and discharge on EP8002 hardware. The BMS accepted the cell cleanly, held the over-discharge cutoff at the correct threshold, and the motor drew current normally under load throughout testing.
  • Post-use drying before charging: Epilators are frequently used on damp skin. Moisture that enters the charging port and bridges the contacts triggers a BMS protection fault — the device appears completely dead rather than showing a charge error. Dry the port thoroughly before connecting the charger after any wet-skin session.

Why the EP8002 motor feels weak before the battery indicator drops

The 18500 Li-ion cell in this epilator has a steep voltage sag curve under motor load. As the cell ages, internal resistance rises, and the voltage at the cell terminals drops sharply the moment the motor engages — even when the fuel gauge still reads mid-charge. The disc mechanism loses torque first because the motor is the highest-draw component in the circuit. Replacing the cell eliminates the resistance-driven sag and restores full disc speed from the first rotation.

Battery gauge drifting after months of daily top-up charging

Shallow top-off cycles — plugging in after every single use without allowing a full discharge — cause the charge gauge to drift out of calibration over time. The device cuts off earlier than it should because the BMS has lost accurate track of true cell capacity. Run the epilator to the automatic cutoff point, then charge to 100% in a single uninterrupted session. Repeat this full cycle twice and the gauge recalibrates to the cell's actual capacity.

Frequently Asked Questions

My Rowenta epilator motor slows down and almost stalls mid-use even though the battery still shows charge — what's happening?

This is voltage sag under motor load. As the original 18500 cell ages, its internal resistance climbs, and the terminal voltage drops sharply the moment the disc motor draws current — even if the fuel gauge reads 50% or higher. The gauge measures resting voltage, not load voltage, so the two readings diverge as the cell degrades. Replace the cell and confirm the loaded voltage stays above 3.5V during motor operation.

My EP8002 stopped charging completely after I used it on damp skin — the charger light shows nothing at all.

Moisture that enters the charging port and bridges the contact pins triggers the BMS protection fault, which cuts all charging current. The device reads as completely dead rather than as a charging error. Let the port air-dry fully — at least a few hours — before reconnecting the charger. If the fault clears and charging resumes, the cell is fine; if the BMS does not reset after a full dry-out, replace the cell to clear the latched fault state.

After several months of plugging in after every single use, my epilator now dies much sooner than it used to — is the battery worn out or is something else wrong?

Constant shallow top-offs without full discharge cycles cause gauge drift — the BMS loses track of the cell's true capacity and triggers cutoff too early. Run the epilator all the way down to the automatic shutoff, then charge it in one uninterrupted session to 100%. Repeat that full cycle twice. If runtime recovers, the gauge has recalibrated; if it does not improve after two full cycles, the cell capacity has genuinely faded and the cell needs replacing.
