Fits Rowenta RR9695WH and X-Plorer Serie 240 AI models; replaces OEM part N139-4S2P and SS-2230003459.
14.8V and 5200mAh capacity sustains floor cleaning cycles across hard floors and carpet passes without mid-session dropoff.
Connector slides into the dock station vertically with a positive-first orientation; locking tab engages with a single click.
We bench-tested the pack on a dock cycle simulator — BMS accepted charge handshake on first insertion with no fault codes.
Do not leave this vacuum on the charging dock permanently between uses; continuous trickle charging degrades cell capacity faster than charge-then-remove cycles.

Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Rowenta X-Plorer Serie 240 AI — 14.8V Li-ion Replacement Battery (N139-4S2P)

This 14.8V, 5200mAh (76.96Wh) Li-ion battery replaces the original power cell in the Rowenta RR9695WH, X-Plorer Serie 240 AI, and X-Plorer Serie 240+ AI robotic vacuum cleaners. When the factory battery loses capacity, cleaning runs shorten and the robot may return to dock earlier than expected. Swapping the cell restores full operating voltage to the drive motors, brush roll, and suction system.

  • X-Plorer Serie 240 AI platform compatibility: The RR9695WH and both 240 AI variants share the same 14.8V four-cell architecture, connector pinout, and BMS handshake protocol — which is why a single part number (N139-4S2P / SS-2230003459) covers all three. The battery management system on this platform negotiates charge state with the dock before allowing current flow, so physical fit alone is not enough — the BMS must respond correctly to the charger's initialisation signal.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We ran this cell through full charge and discharge cycles on the X-Plorer platform. The BMS communicated with the dock charger without error, the protection circuit responded correctly to simulated over-discharge, and all four cell groups balanced within expected tolerances under load.
  • Dock charge habit on robotic vacuums: Do not leave the robot parked on the charging dock permanently between cleaning sessions. Continuous trickle charging through the dock accelerates capacity fade in Li-ion cells. Charge fully after each use, then remove the robot from the dock until the next scheduled run.

Suction dropping before the battery indicator reaches low

On the X-Plorer Serie 240 AI, suction loss mid-cycle is almost never the battery failing outright — it is the motor drawing excess current because the filter is restricting airflow. The BMS sees the elevated draw and reduces output to stay within its overcurrent threshold, which the robot interprets and displays as low power. Clean or replace the HEPA filter first, then recharge and rerun the cleaning cycle. If suction recovers, the battery was not the root cause.

Robot returns to dock immediately after leaving it — won't start a cleaning run

This happens when the original battery has dropped below the BMS's minimum operating voltage — typically around 11V on a 14.8V four-cell pack — and the protection circuit has locked the output to prevent further deep discharge. A replacement cell will resolve this, but if the new battery also fails to start a run, the dock charger may not be completing the BMS handshake required before the robot accepts a run command. Verify the dock contacts are clean and making firm connection, then allow a full uninterrupted charge cycle before attempting to start the robot.

Frequently Asked Questions

My X-Plorer 240 AI loses suction well before the battery light comes on — is the battery failing?

Not necessarily. On the X-Plorer platform, a partially blocked filter forces the motor to draw more current than rated, and the BMS throttles output to protect the cells — the robot reads this as low battery even when charge remains. Remove and clean the HEPA filter, recharge fully, and run another cycle. If suction holds, the filter was the cause, not the battery.

The robot cuts out mid-run, sits for a few seconds, then carries on — what's causing that?

This is a BMS overcurrent trip, not a dead battery. When suction is restricted — usually a blocked brush roll or clogged filter — the motor pulls a current spike the BMS won't allow to sustain, so it cuts power briefly then resets. Clear the brush roll of hair and debris, check the filter, and retest. If the cut-outs stop, the cell itself is fine.

We replaced the battery but the robot still returns to the dock after a very short run — shorter than before.

A new cell needs one full, uninterrupted charge cycle on the dock before the BMS calibrates its state-of-charge reading accurately. If the robot still cuts short after that first full charge, check that the dock contacts are clean — oxidised pins interrupt the charger handshake and the pack will not charge to full voltage. Wipe the dock contacts with a dry cloth and repeat the full charge; the pack should reach 16.7V at termination.
