Battery Care Tips
Battery Care Tips
🔹 Getting Started
Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.
🔹 Keep It Healthy
Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping
🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Tefal RG9495 — 14.8V Li-ion Replacement Battery (N139-4S2P)
This is a 14.8V 5200mAh Li-ion battery for the Tefal RG9495 cordless vacuum cleaner. It replaces OEM part numbers N139-4S2P and SS-2230003459. Capacity, voltage, and connector match the original specification.
- RG9495 compatibility: The RG9495 runs a 14.8V four-cell Li-ion pack with a BMS that monitors cell voltage balance and current draw during motor operation. This pack matches that voltage rail, cell configuration, and connector pinout exactly.
- Bench tested on actual hardware: We ran this pack through charge and discharge cycles on the RG9495 platform. The BMS communicated correctly with the charger, accepted a full charge without fault codes, and cut off cleanly at the low-voltage threshold under motor load.
- Dock charging habit for the RG9495: The RG9495 charging dock does not interrupt current when the pack reaches full charge on older firmware. Leaving the vacuum docked permanently accelerates capacity fade — charge to full, then remove it from the dock.
Suction dropping before the battery indicator reaches low on the RG9495
The RG9495 motor draws current spikes above rated amperage when suction is restricted — typically a clogged filter or partial blockage in the duct. A degraded battery pack cannot sustain the voltage under those spikes, so the BMS pulls back power to protect the cells. The result is reduced suction that looks like a dying battery but is actually a voltage sag event. Clean the filter first, then check whether suction recovers — if it does, the battery is not the root cause. If the filter is clean and voltage still sags, the original pack has lost enough cell capacity to warrant replacement.
Motor cuts out mid-clean then recovers after a few seconds
This is a BMS overcurrent trip, not a power failure. When airflow is restricted — blocked filter, full dust cup, or sealed nozzle — the motor strains against the resistance and draws current beyond the BMS threshold. The BMS cuts the circuit to protect the cells, then resets once current normalises. Check the filter and empty the dust cup before assuming the battery is faulty. If the cutout still occurs with clear airflow and a clean filter, measure pack voltage at rest — a healthy 14.8V nominal pack should read above 15.5V fully charged.

Frequently Asked Questions
My RG9495 suction drops off well before the battery light shows low — is the battery dying or is something else wrong?
Most of the time this is a filter restriction causing the motor to draw more current than the pack can hold at voltage — not a failed battery. A clogged filter forces the motor to work harder, which spikes current draw and causes voltage sag in the cells. Remove and clean the filter, empty the dust cup, and run the vacuum again. If suction stabilises after that, the pack is fine; if sag continues with clear airflow, check resting pack voltage — a full charge on a healthy 14.8V pack should read above 15.5V.
I left my RG9495 on the dock for weeks and now it barely holds a charge — what happened?
Continuous dock charging applies a low-level trickle current to the cells even after the pack is full. Over weeks, that sustained low current stresses the cell chemistry and degrades capacity. This is one of the most common causes of early fade in cordless vacuums — it is not a factory defect. Going forward, charge the vacuum to full and remove it from the dock rather than storing it docked permanently.
My replacement battery is not being recognised by the RG9495 charger — the charge light never comes on. What should I try?
The RG9495 charger expects a BMS handshake signal before it begins a charge cycle — if the pack has been deeply discharged below the BMS recovery threshold, the charger will not initiate. Connect the battery to the vacuum first and attempt to power it on; this can wake the BMS from deep-discharge protection mode. If the vacuum powers on briefly, immediately place it on the charger — the BMS should now respond and the charge light should activate within 60 seconds.
