Fits Sagem OT860 and OT890 phones; replaces OEM part 189950240.
3.7V, 900mAh lithium-ion cell restores full charge cycles to aged devices.
Connector slides straight into the battery slot with no locking tab.
We cycled this cell on a bench charger; BMS accepted charge at 0.5A without fault codes.
On first power-up after installation, let the phone discharge fully to zero before recharging — the fuel gauge IC needs one complete cycle to recalibrate against this cell's discharge curve.

Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Sagem OT860 / OT890 — 3.7V Li-ion Replacement Battery (189950240)

This 3.7V, 900mAh Li-ion cell replaces the original battery in the Sagem OT860 and OT890 smartphones. It matches OEM part numbers 189950240, SAAM-SN0, and SAAM-SN1. The cell measures 53.00 × 34.00 × 4.80mm — verify those dimensions against your original before fitting.

  • OT860 and OT890 compatibility: Both models share the same battery bay dimensions, connector pinout, and BMS handshake protocol, which is why a single cell covers both. Voltage rail is 3.7V nominal across the platform.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this cell through charge and discharge on the bench. The BMS accepted charge current without tripping, and the protection circuit engaged correctly at low-voltage cutoff — no runaway events observed.
  • Fuel gauge recalibration after fitting: On first use, run one full discharge down to automatic shutdown, then charge uninterrupted to 100% before enabling any fast-charge option. This gives the fuel gauge IC a clean reference curve against the new cell — skipping it causes erratic percentage readings for several cycles.

Sudden shutdown at 20–30% on the OT860 after a cell swap

This happens because the phone's fuel gauge IC is still calibrated to the discharge curve of the old, degraded cell. When the new cell hits a voltage point the IC associates with a safe state, it cuts power before the cell is actually empty. The modem radio drawing burst current during a call accelerates the voltage drop at that threshold. One full discharge-to-shutdown cycle followed by an uninterrupted charge resets the coulomb counter and clears the symptom.

Phone won't power on after the replacement battery sat in storage

Li-ion cells self-discharge in storage, and if the voltage drops below approximately 2.5V per cell, the BMS enters lockout mode to prevent damage. The phone will show no response — no boot screen, no charge indicator. Connect the phone to a charger and leave it for 15–20 minutes without pressing the power button; the charge IC needs time to trickle current into the cell and push voltage above the BMS re-enable threshold. Once the charge indicator appears, a normal charge cycle can begin.

Frequently Asked Questions

My OT860 shuts off at around 25% battery after fitting the new cell — is the battery faulty?

It is not faulty. The fuel gauge IC on the OT860 is calibrated to the discharge curve of the original cell, which was likely degraded. With a fresh cell, the IC misreads the remaining capacity and trips a shutdown before the cell is genuinely low. Run one complete discharge to automatic shutdown, then charge uninterrupted to 100% without interruption. After that single calibration cycle, the percentage readings stabilise.

The battery percentage on my OT890 jumps around — it showed 60%, then jumped to 45% in a few minutes without heavy use.

Erratic percentage jumps are a fuel gauge IC problem, not a cell problem. The IC uses a stored discharge curve to estimate remaining charge — when that curve no longer matches the new cell's characteristics, the counter corrects itself in sudden steps rather than smoothly. One full uninterrupted discharge-to-shutdown followed by a full charge gives the coulomb counter a clean cycle to remap against. The jumping typically stops after that first reference cycle.

The phone feels warm near the battery compartment while charging the new cell — is that normal?

Some warmth during early charging cycles is expected. A new cell has slightly higher internal impedance than a well-cycled cell, so the charge IC dissipates a little more energy as heat during the constant-current phase. If the phone is hot to the touch or charging stops early, that points to the charge IC throttling current — in that case, remove any case during charging and charge on a flat surface. Warmth that disappears after two or three charge cycles is normal cell break-in behaviour.
