Fits SAMCOM FPCN10A radio, replaces OEM part SEBT-FPCN30B.
This 7.4V lithium-ion pack delivers 1500mAh capacity for sustained transmission and reception cycles.
Connector seats flush into the radio battery slot with positive contact alignment and retention latch.
We bench-tested the BMS under PTT load spikes; cell voltage held stable with no early cutoff.
On first insertion into the FPCN10A dock, if the charger shows a fault LED, remove the pack, wipe the gold contact strip on the battery with a dry cloth, and reseat firmly—the radio requires a clean contact cycle to accept the new BMS handshake before charging begins.

Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

SAMCOM FPCN10A — 7.4V Li-ion Replacement Battery (SEBT-FPCN30B)

This is a 7.4V, 1500mAh Li-ion battery built to replace the SEBT-FPCN30B pack in the SAMCOM FPCN10A two-way radio. It fits the original battery slot directly and matches the connector and BMS handshake requirements of the FPCN10A platform. Capacity is rated at 11.1Wh, consistent with the OEM specification.

  • FPCN10A platform fit: The FPCN10A uses a 7.4V two-cell Li-ion configuration with a specific BMS handshake that the radio's charging circuit must recognise before it accepts current. This replacement pack carries the same voltage rail and connector pinout, so the radio's protection circuit responds the same way it does with the original.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We ran this pack through transmit-cycle loads simulating PTT bursts on the FPCN10A platform. The BMS held stable across repeated high-draw spikes and did not trigger overcurrent cutoff under normal transmission patterns.
  • First insertion on the FPCN10A charger dock: If the dock shows a fault LED on first insertion, remove the battery, wipe the gold contact strip with a dry cloth, and reseat firmly. The FPCN10A charger requires a clean contact cycle to complete the BMS handshake before it begins charging.

Why the FPCN10A cuts out mid-transmission on a freshly inserted battery

New Li-ion cells ship at storage voltage — typically around 3.7V per cell, not the 4.2V full-charge ceiling. When you press PTT, the transmit current spike hits the BMS before the cells have been brought up to operating charge. The BMS reads the voltage drop under load as an undervoltage fault and trips the output. Charge the pack fully before the first transmission shift — the dock should show green before you key up.

Bar indicator on FPCN10A showing one fewer bar than expected after swap

The FPCN10A uses a voltage-threshold bar indicator — it reads pack voltage directly and maps it to bars, with no fuel gauge chip involved. A new cell sitting at storage voltage will read one bar lower than a fully charged pack of the same capacity. This is not a fault with the replacement battery. Charge the pack to full and the bar reading will align with the OEM pack at the same state of charge.

Frequently Asked Questions

The FPCN10A radio cuts out every time I press PTT with the new battery — what's happening?

The transmit current spike on PTT is hitting the BMS while the cells are still at storage voltage, and the protection circuit is tripping on the voltage sag. This is a storage-voltage issue, not a faulty pack. Charge the battery fully before using the radio — once the cells are at 4.2V per cell, the BMS won't trip under normal transmit load.

The FPCN10A charger dock is blinking a fault LED and won't start charging — how do I clear it?

The dock fault LED usually means the charger can't complete the BMS handshake because the contact strip isn't making a clean connection. Remove the battery, wipe the gold contacts on both the battery and the dock with a dry cloth, and firmly reseat the pack. If the fault persists, the pack may be below the dock's acceptance voltage threshold — connect via a USB charger or compatible external charger to bring the cell voltage above 3.0V per cell, then retry the dock.

Radio is dropping to reduced transmit power halfway through a shift — is the battery failing or is this normal?

Sustained RF output draws more current than standby or short PTT bursts, and voltage sag under that continuous load can push the pack below the radio's TX power threshold. This happens faster if the battery hasn't been fully charged or if the cells have accumulated shallow-cycle wear. Charge the pack fully before each shift rather than topping up from partial. If the drop still occurs on a full charge, check that the contact strip is seated flush — a poor contact raises effective impedance and worsens sag under load.
