Fits Midland BizTalk BR200 two-way radio; replaces OEM battery part number BRB200.
3.7V lithium-ion at 1800mAh delivers full transmission power without voltage sag during sustained RF output.
Slides into BR200 battery slot with positive terminal forward; locking tab engages automatically on insertion.
We bench-tested this cell in a BR200 dock and confirmed clean BMS handshake with zero fault LED on first charge cycle.
If the charger dock shows a fault light after inserting this battery, remove it, wipe the gold contact strip with a dry cloth, and reseat firmly — the Midland platform requires a clean contact cycle to accept the new BMS before charging begins.

Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Midland BizTalk BR200 — 3.7V Li-ion Replacement Battery (BRB200)

This is a 3.7V, 1800mAh Li-ion battery for the Midland BizTalk BR200 two-way radio. It replaces OEM part number BRB200 directly. The BizTalk BR200 is a business-band portable radio, and this cell restores full voltage output to units where the original pack has degraded.

  • BizTalk BR200 platform fit: The BR200 runs a single-cell 3.7V Li-ion architecture. The BRB200 pack includes a BMS matched to the radio's charge termination voltage and transmit-current draw. No adapter or modification is needed — the connector and contact layout are identical to the factory pack.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this pack through PTT transmit bursts to confirm the BMS does not trip under the current spike generated at key-up. Charge termination and cell balancing both completed without fault.
  • First insertion into the dock: If the charger shows a fault LED on first insertion, remove the BRB200, wipe the contact strip with a dry cloth, and reseat firmly. The BR200 dock requires a clean contact cycle to complete the BMS handshake before charging begins.

BRB200 bar indicator showing fewer bars than expected on a new pack

The BR200 reads battery level using voltage thresholds, not a fuel gauge chip. A new cell shipped at storage voltage — typically 3.6–3.7V — sits at or just below the radio's top-bar threshold. The indicator may show one fewer bar than expected until the pack completes its first full charge cycle. Charge to termination before field use and the bar count will stabilise at full.

BR200 cuts out mid-transmission on a degraded original pack

When the BR200 keys up to transmit, current draw spikes sharply above the standby baseline. An aged or partially discharged cell cannot hold voltage under that load, and the radio's BMS trips to protect the cell — dropping the transmission. This is a cell-condition failure, not a radio fault. Fitting a fresh BRB200 at full charge resolves the cutout; if it recurs immediately, check that the dock has charged the new pack to 4.2V before use.

Frequently Asked Questions

The BR200 dock has been on the new battery for hours and the LED never turns green — what's wrong?

A new BRB200 shipped at storage voltage can sit below the dock's acceptance threshold, causing the charger to stall before beginning the charge cycle. Remove the pack, wipe the gold contacts with a dry cloth, and reseat it firmly to trigger a clean BMS handshake. If the LED still does not advance, leave the pack seated for 10–15 minutes — some dock firmware requires a trickle-charge lead-in before switching to full charge. The fault clears once the cell climbs above approximately 3.5V.

The BR200 transmits fine at the start of a shift but drops to a weak, broken signal by mid-shift — is the battery failing?

This is voltage sag under sustained RF output, not an instant BMS trip. As the cell discharges through repeated transmit bursts, its internal resistance rises and it can no longer hold the voltage rail steady under transmit load — the radio reduces TX power to compensate. A fresh BRB200 at full charge eliminates the sag for a normal shift. If the behaviour returns quickly on a new pack, confirm the dock is charging to full termination voltage (4.2V) before the radio leaves the charger.

The BR200 has been sitting unused for several months and now won't power on at all — is the battery dead?

Extended storage at low state of charge can push a Li-ion cell below the BMS recovery threshold, causing the pack to appear completely dead. Place the BRB200 in the dock and leave it for at least 30 minutes before concluding it won't charge — some chargers deliver a low-current recovery pulse before switching to normal charge mode. If the dock shows no response after 30 minutes, the cell has likely self-discharged below the point where the BMS will allow recovery, and a replacement BRB200 is required. Going forward, store spare packs at roughly half charge and top them up every three months.
