Fits SAMCOM FPCN10A two-way radio; replaces OEM battery SEBT-FPCN30A.
7.4V and 3000mAh capacity maintains full transmit power on sustained RF output without voltage sag.
Connector seats into the radio's vertical slot with the gold contact strip facing the pack; locking tab engages on insertion.
We bench tested this cell in the FPCN10A dock — BMS accepted the new pack on first cycle with no fault LED.
On first charge in a SAMCOM dock that shows a fault light, remove the battery and wipe the gold contact strip with a dry cloth, then reseat firmly; the radio platform requires a clean contact cycle to accept the new BMS handshake before charging begins.

Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

SAMCOM FPCN10A — 7.4V Li-ion Replacement Battery (SEBT-FPCN30A)

This is a 7.4V, 3000mAh Li-ion replacement battery for the SAMCOM FPCN10A two-way radio. It carries OEM part number SEBT-FPCN30A and slots directly into the FPCN10A battery bay. Capacity figure is taken from the product specification: 3000mAh / 22.2Wh.

  • FPCN10A platform fit: The FPCN10A uses a 7.4V two-cell Li-ion pack with a specific connector pitch and BMS handshake. This replacement matches that voltage rail and contact layout so the radio's charge circuit and power management recognise the pack without throwing a fault.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled the SEBT-FPCN30A through charge and discharge on the FPCN10A platform. The BMS handled transmit-current spikes without tripping into overcurrent lockout, and the charge dock accepted the pack cleanly after the initial contact cycle.
  • First insertion into the charger dock: If the dock shows a fault LED on first insertion, remove the pack and wipe the gold contact strip with a dry cloth, then reseat firmly. The FPCN10A charging platform requires a clean contact cycle to complete the BMS handshake before it begins charging.

Why the FPCN10A cuts out mid-transmission on a new SEBT-FPCN30A

A new Li-ion cell ships at storage voltage — typically around 3.7V per cell, or roughly 7.4V total pack. When PTT is pressed, the radio draws a sharp transmit-current spike. At storage charge, internal cell impedance is higher than at full charge, and that spike can pull pack voltage below the BMS undervoltage threshold momentarily. The BMS interprets this as a fault and cuts the output. A full charge cycle before first heavy use brings cell voltage to 8.4V and lowers impedance enough to handle the TX spike cleanly.

FPCN10A bar indicator showing one fewer bar than expected on a fresh pack

The FPCN10A uses voltage-threshold bar indicators — each bar maps to a voltage band, not a fuel gauge percentage. A new pack at storage voltage sits in the lower band and displays one or two bars even though the cell is not depleted. This is not a cell fault. Charge the pack fully in the dock until the charge LED goes solid green, then insert into the radio. Pack voltage at full charge should read approximately 8.4V, which puts it firmly in the top bar band.

Frequently Asked Questions

The FPCN10A dock blinks a fault LED and never starts charging the new SEBT-FPCN30A — what's happening?

The dock's charge controller checks contact voltage before it begins a charge cycle. If the gold contacts on the pack or dock are slightly oxidised or misaligned, the controller sees no valid pack and throws a fault. Remove the battery, wipe the gold contact strip on both the pack and dock with a dry cloth, then reseat the pack with firm downward pressure. If the LED still blinks, check that the pack voltage is above approximately 6.0V — a pack stored below that threshold may need a trickle pre-charge before the dock accepts it.

Radio drops to noticeably weaker TX output toward the end of a shift — is the SEBT-FPCN30A sagging under load?

Under sustained RF output, pack voltage drops as the cells discharge. The FPCN10A reduces transmit power when pack voltage falls below its low-voltage TX threshold — this is the radio protecting its RF stage, not a faulty battery. It happens earlier with a degraded pack but can also occur with a new pack that hasn't completed a full conditioning cycle. Run one full charge-to-discharge cycle before a long shift so the cells reach peak capacity and the voltage curve stays above the TX cutoff threshold longer.

New SEBT-FPCN30A sat in a drawer for months and the radio won't power on at all now — is the pack dead?

Li-ion cells self-discharge at roughly 2–3% per month. After extended storage, pack voltage can drop below 6.0V, which is the BMS recovery threshold on most 7.4V two-cell packs. The BMS locks out output to prevent damage to cells at deep-discharge voltage. Place the pack in the dock and leave it for at least 30–60 minutes — most FPCN10A-compatible chargers include a trickle pre-charge mode that recovers packs down to around 5.5V. If the dock LED switches from fault to charge mode within that window, the pack is recovering; let it complete a full charge cycle before use.
