• FPCN10A platform fit: The FPCN10A uses a 7.4V two-cell Li-ion pack with a specific connector pitch and BMS handshake. This replacement matches that voltage rail and contact layout so the radio's charge circuit and power management recognise the pack without throwing a fault.

Why the FPCN10A cuts out mid-transmission on a new SEBT-FPCN30A

A new Li-ion cell ships at storage voltage — typically around 3.7V per cell, or roughly 7.4V total pack. When PTT is pressed, the radio draws a sharp transmit-current spike. At storage charge, internal cell impedance is higher than at full charge, and that spike can pull pack voltage below the BMS undervoltage threshold momentarily. The BMS interprets this as a fault and cuts the output. A full charge cycle before first heavy use brings cell voltage to 8.4V and lowers impedance enough to handle the TX spike cleanly.

The FPCN10A uses voltage-threshold bar indicators — each bar maps to a voltage band, not a fuel gauge percentage. A new pack at storage voltage sits in the lower band and displays one or two bars even though the cell is not depleted. This is not a cell fault. Charge the pack fully in the dock until the charge LED goes solid green, then insert into the radio. Pack voltage at full charge should read approximately 8.4V, which puts it firmly in the top bar band.
