Fits Samsung Galaxy A90 5G models SM-A908, SM-A908B, SM-A908F and replaces OEM battery EB-BA908ABY.
3.85V Li-Polymer cell rated 4400mAh—supplies the voltage curve the fuel gauge IC expects for accurate percentage reporting on this platform.
Connector orientation matches the original pack; locking tab seats flush against the upper battery slot edge without forcing.
We charged through a full cycle on a Galaxy A90 5G bench unit; BMS accepted the cell voltage handshake and delivered stable discharge current without early cutoff.
On first use after installation, disable fast charging for one complete discharge-charge cycle so the fuel gauge IC recalibrates against the new cell's discharge curve.

Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Samsung Galaxy A90 5G — 3.85V Li-Polymer Replacement Battery (EB-BA908ABY)

This 3.85V, 4400mAh Li-Polymer cell replaces the original battery in the Samsung Galaxy A90 5G. It fits the SM-A908, SM-A908B, and SM-A908F variants and restores capacity when the original cell has degraded past usable thresholds. Part number EB-BA908ABY confirms direct compatibility with the A90 5G battery bay and connector.

  • SM-A908 variant coverage: The SM-A908, SM-A908B, and SM-A908F share the same battery bay dimensions, connector pinout, and BMS handshake protocol — one cell covers all three. The 78.40 × 64.65 × 4.66mm form factor matches the original housing with no modification.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this cell through charge and discharge on the SM-A908 platform. The BMS accepted the charge IC handshake without error flags, and coulomb counter registration completed normally across the first full cycle.
  • Fuel gauge recalibration on first use: Disable fast charging for the first complete discharge-charge cycle after installation. The fuel gauge IC is calibrated to the old cell's discharge curve — one full slow cycle at standard charge current lets it remap against the new cell before high-current charging is applied.

Why the A90 5G reports wrong battery percentage after a cell swap

The Galaxy A90 5G uses a coulomb counter inside the fuel gauge IC to estimate state of charge. That counter was calibrated against the original cell's internal resistance and discharge slope. When a new cell goes in, the stored curve no longer matches actual cell behaviour, so the percentage display reads high or low. One full discharge to auto-shutdown followed by a complete charge to 100% at standard current resets the calibration baseline.

Sudden shutdown at 20–30% on the replacement cell

The A90 5G's 5G modem and display draw burst current that can spike well above the steady-state load. If the fuel gauge IC has not yet recalibrated, it may show 25% while actual cell voltage has already dropped to the BMS cutoff threshold — around 3.0V under load. The BMS reads voltage directly and cuts power to protect the cell, regardless of what the OS percentage shows. Run two full discharge-charge cycles and the fuel gauge will track actual cell voltage closely enough to eliminate the premature cutoff.

Frequently Asked Questions

My A90 5G won't turn on at all after the replacement battery sat in a drawer for a few months — what's happening?

A Li-Polymer cell stored uncharged will self-discharge below the BMS lockout threshold, typically under 2.5V per cell. At that voltage, the BMS cuts all output to prevent damage and the phone shows no signs of life. Connect the phone to a wall charger — not a PC port — and leave it for 20–30 minutes before attempting to power on. The charge IC will trickle current into the cell until voltage rises above the BMS re-enable threshold, at which point normal charging resumes.

Fast charging stopped working the first time I plugged in after fitting the replacement — is the new battery the cause?

Yes, this is common on the first cycle. The USB-PD and Samsung Adaptive Fast Charge handshake requires the BMS on the new cell to confirm readiness before the charge IC ramps current. On an uncalibrated cell, the BMS can respond with a flag that causes the charge IC to fall back to standard 5V charging. Complete one full charge-discharge cycle at standard current, then reconnect with the original fast charger — the BMS handshake completes correctly once the cell has been through one full cycle.

The phone feels warm near the battery while charging after the swap — is that normal?

A new Li-Polymer cell has slightly higher internal impedance than a broken-in cell, which means more energy is converted to heat during the first few charge cycles. On the A90 5G this shows up as noticeable warmth near the battery cover during charging. It reduces significantly after three to five full cycles as internal impedance drops. If the phone becomes hot to the touch or charging stops and restarts repeatedly, check that the USB cable is the original Samsung cable — a resistive third-party cable increases charge IC workload and compounds the heat.
