Battery Care Tips
Battery Care Tips
🔹 Getting Started
Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.
🔹 Keep It Healthy
Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.
Delivery and Shipping
Delivery and Shipping
🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Samsung Galaxy J3 2017 — 3.85V Li-Polymer Replacement Battery (EB-BJ330ABE)
This is a 3.85V, 2400mAh Li-Polymer replacement battery for the Samsung Galaxy J3 2017. It fits the SM-J330G, SM-J330L, and related TD-LTE variants using OEM part number EB-BJ330ABE. Swap it when the original cell no longer holds adequate charge or the phone powers off unexpectedly under normal use.
- SM-J330 series compatibility: The SM-J330G, SM-J330L, and TD-LTE variants all share the same 3.85V battery bay, connector pinout, and BMS handshake protocol — one cell fits across the entire J3 2017 lineup.
- Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this cell through full charge and discharge on SM-J330 hardware. The BMS accepted the cell without error codes, charge IC stepped through trickle, CC, and CV phases cleanly, and capacity landed within 2% of rated 2400mAh on the second cycle.
- Fuel gauge recalibration after install: On first use after installation, disable fast charging for one complete discharge-charge cycle. This lets the fuel gauge IC recalibrate against the new cell's discharge curve before high-current charging pushes current into an uncalibrated cell — reducing the risk of erratic percentage readings early on.
Sudden shutdown at 20–30% on the replacement cell
This is a voltage cliff problem, not a capacity problem. When the modem transmits or the screen brightness peaks, current draw spikes and the cell voltage drops sharply. If the fuel gauge IC is still calibrated to the old cell's discharge curve, it misreads remaining capacity and the phone shuts down before the gauge hits zero. The fix is one full, uninterrupted discharge-charge cycle with fast charging off. After that cycle, the coulomb counter resets against the new cell's actual voltage curve and the shutdowns stop.
Phone warm near the battery during the first few charges
A new Li-Polymer cell typically has higher internal impedance than a well-cycled one. The charge IC on the J3 2017 runs constant-current phase at the same rate regardless, so more energy converts to heat inside a fresh, high-impedance cell. This is normal for the first two to three cycles and fades as the cell's impedance drops. If warmth persists beyond the third full charge, check that the battery connector is fully seated — a partial connection raises contact resistance and adds heat at the joint. The phone should feel cool to the touch by the fourth cycle.

Frequently Asked Questions
My Samsung Galaxy J3 2017 won't turn on at all after the replacement battery sat in a drawer for months — is the cell dead?
Not necessarily dead, but the BMS may have locked out after the cell discharged below 2.5V during storage. Connect the phone to a wall charger — not a PC port — and leave it for 20–30 minutes without pressing the power button. The charge IC needs to trickle current into the cell long enough to bring it above the BMS unlock threshold before the phone will attempt to boot. If the charging LED or screen shows no response after 45 minutes on a wall adapter, measure the connector voltage; you should see at least 3.0V before the BMS will clear.
The battery percentage on my J3 2017 keeps jumping — it reads 45%, then skips to 28% without warning.
The fuel gauge IC is still running the discharge curve from the old cell. It stores a learned model of how voltage maps to capacity, and the new EB-BJ330ABE cell has a different curve. Run one complete discharge — use the phone normally until it shuts itself off — then charge uninterrupted to 100% with fast charging disabled. That single full cycle forces the coulomb counter to relearn the new cell's voltage-to-capacity relationship. Erratic jumps should stop after that cycle completes.
Fast charging stopped working after I installed the new EB-BJ330ABE — the phone just charges slowly now.
On the first cycle after a cell swap, the J3 2017's charge IC sometimes defaults to standard charging because the BMS on the fresh cell hasn't yet completed its handshake with the phone's USB power negotiation logic. Drain the battery below 15% and then plug into the original Samsung wall adapter — not a third-party charger. Fast charge should re-engage on this second session once the BMS has completed one full trickle-to-CV cycle and confirmed cell health to the charge controller.
