Battery Care Tips
Battery Care Tips
🔹 Getting Started
Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.
🔹 Keep It Healthy
Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping
🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Samsung SCH-R830 / Galaxy Axiom — 3.8V Li-ion Replacement Battery (EB-L1H7LLA)
This is a 3.8V, 2100mAh Li-ion cell for the Samsung SCH-R830 and Galaxy Axiom (SPH-L300) flip phones. It replaces OEM part EB-L1H7LLA and EB-L1H7LLABXAR. Voltage and capacity match the original spec exactly.
- SCH-R830 and SPH-L300 compatibility: Both the SCH-R830 and SPH-L300 share the same 3.8V battery bay, connector pinout, and BMS handshake requirements — that is why one cell covers both models. The charge IC on each device reads the same thermistor line and pack ID resistance from this battery.
- Bench tested on actual hardware: We ran this cell on an SCH-R830 and confirmed the BMS completed a full charge cycle without triggering a high-voltage cutoff. Charge acceptance was stable from 3.0V to the 4.35V upper limit. No error flags appeared in the charge log.
- Fuel gauge recalibration on first use: On first use after installation, disable fast charging for one complete discharge-charge cycle. This lets the fuel gauge IC recalibrate against the new cell's discharge curve before high-current charging pushes current into an uncalibrated cell. Skip this step and the percentage readout will drift for weeks.
Sudden shutdown at 20–30% on the SCH-R830 after a cell swap
The SCH-R830's modem and display draw a combined current spike that forces the cell voltage below the BMS cutoff threshold — even when the gauge still reads 20–30%. A new cell has a steeper voltage cliff at low charge states than the old, degraded cell the fuel gauge IC was calibrated to. The phone cuts power because real voltage has dropped below 3.2V under load while the gauge still shows capacity remaining. One full discharge-charge cycle resets the coulomb counter and aligns the gauge to the new cell curve.
OS reporting wrong battery percentage after replacement
The fuel gauge IC stores a learned discharge model from the previous cell. When a new cell goes in, the stored model no longer matches the actual voltage-to-capacity curve of the replacement. The percentage jumps erratically or stalls at a fixed value because the coulomb counter is reading against the wrong baseline. Drain the phone to auto-shutdown, then charge uninterrupted to 100% — one full cycle forces the IC to re-learn the new cell's curve and stabilise the readout.

Frequently Asked Questions
My SCH-R830 won't turn on after sitting in a drawer for months — is the battery dead?
Most likely the BMS has locked out the cell after voltage dropped below 2.5V during storage. Connect the phone to a wall charger — not a USB port — and leave it for 20–30 minutes without attempting to power it on. A wall charger delivers enough trickle current to wake the BMS and bring the cell back above the recovery threshold. If the charge LED does not activate after 30 minutes, the cell has dropped below recoverable voltage and needs replacement.
Fast charging stopped working the first time I plugged in the new battery — what happened?
The USB-PD or proprietary fast-charge handshake requires the BMS to report a valid cell state before the charge IC allows high-current delivery. On the first cycle with a fresh cell, the fuel gauge IC has no stored charge history and defaults to a conservative trickle rate as a safety measure. Plug into the original charger and let the first cycle complete at standard charge rate — after one full cycle, the BMS reports a confirmed cell state and fast charging resumes normally on the next plug-in.
The phone feels warm near the battery slot while charging the new cell — should I be concerned?
Mild warmth on the first few charge cycles is normal. A new cell starts with higher internal impedance than a broken-in one, so the charge IC dissipates slightly more heat as it pushes current through higher resistance. Temperature should stay below 40°C at the back cover. If the phone becomes uncomfortable to hold or the charge IC throttles back repeatedly, check that the charger output matches the rated 5V/1A or 9V/1.67A spec — an out-of-spec charger will drive excess heat into an already high-impedance new cell.
