Battery Care Tips
Battery Care Tips
🔹 Getting Started
Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.
🔹 Keep It Healthy
Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping
🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

USCellular SCH-R830 Galaxy Axiom — 3.8V Li-ion Replacement Battery (EB-L1H7LLA)
This is a 3.8V, 2100mAh Li-ion cell for the Samsung Galaxy S III distributed by USCellular as the SCH-R830, also sold as the Galaxy Axiom. It replaces OEM part EB-L1H7LLA and EB-L1H7LLABXAR. If your original cell no longer holds a useful charge or swells, this is the direct swap.
- SCH-R830 and Galaxy Axiom compatibility: Both model numbers reference the same USCellular-distributed Galaxy S III hardware. They share the same battery bay dimensions (63.00 × 50.40 × 5.40mm), the same 3.8V nominal rail, and the same OEM part number. One battery covers both listings without modification.
- Bench tested on actual hardware: We ran this cell through charge and discharge cycles on the SCH-R830 platform. The BMS accepted charge from the device's onboard charge IC without triggering protection flags, and voltage settled at 4.35V at full charge with no thermal events.
- Fuel gauge recalibration after install: On first use, disable any fast-charge mode and run one full discharge-to-charge cycle before relying on the battery percentage indicator. This lets the fuel gauge IC map the new cell's discharge curve before the coulomb counter anchors its calibration values.
Why the SCH-R830 reports wrong battery percentage after a cell swap
The Galaxy S III uses a fuel gauge IC that builds its charge-state model from the previous cell's learned discharge curve. When you install a new cell, that stored curve no longer matches actual cell chemistry, so the reported percentage drifts — sometimes by 10–20%. One complete discharge below 10% and a full charge to 100% without interruption forces the IC to relearn against the new cell. After that single cycle, percentage reporting stabilises.
Sudden shutdown at 20–30% on the replacement cell
This happens when the modem or display draws a current spike the cell cannot sustain without dropping below the BMS cutoff threshold — typically around 3.0V under load. A freshly installed cell that hasn't completed a calibration cycle is most vulnerable because the charge IC hasn't confirmed actual usable capacity. Run one full discharge cycle, then charge uninterrupted to 100%. If shutdowns persist past two full cycles, check that the battery contacts are clean and seated flat — a high-contact-resistance connection accelerates voltage sag under load.

Frequently Asked Questions
The phone powers on fine but shuts off suddenly when I open the camera or load a heavy app — is the new battery faulty?
This is a voltage sag shutdown, not a faulty cell. High-draw tasks like the camera sensor and modem together pull enough current to drop cell voltage below the BMS cutoff at 3.0V before the percentage indicator catches up. It almost always happens on an uncalibrated replacement cell. Run one full drain-to-charge cycle without interruption and the fuel gauge IC will anchor its cutoff model to the correct discharge curve.
My SCH-R830 won't turn on at all after the replacement battery sat in a drawer for a few months before I installed it — what's happening?
A cell stored in a discharged state can drop below 2.5V, which triggers BMS lockout to prevent damage. The phone won't respond because the BMS blocks current until the cell recovers above the recovery threshold. Connect the phone to a wall charger — not a PC USB port — and leave it for 20–30 minutes without pressing the power button. Once the cell climbs above 3.0V, the BMS releases the lockout and the phone will boot normally.
Fast charging worked on my old battery but the new one only trickle charges — why?
On the first charge cycle after installation, the SCH-R830's charge IC may not immediately negotiate the higher charge rate with an uncalibrated cell. The IC defaults to a conservative current until it confirms the cell's internal impedance is within expected range. Disconnect, let the phone cool for two minutes, then reconnect to the charger. Most units accept the full charge rate by the second or third charge session once the BMS has logged a complete cycle.
