Battery Care Tips
Battery Care Tips
🔹 Getting Started
Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.
🔹 Keep It Healthy
Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping
🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Samsung SGH-T769 / Galaxy S Blaze 4G — 3.7V Li-ion Replacement Battery (EB-L1G5HBA)
This is a 3.7V, 1500mAh Li-ion replacement battery for the Samsung SGH-T769, Galaxy S Blaze 4G, SGH-i577, and Exhilarate smartphones. It replaces OEM part numbers EB-L1G5HBA, EB-L1G5HBABXAR, and EB-L1G5HVA. If your original cell has degraded, swells, or fails to hold a charge, this is a direct cell swap at the correct voltage and physical footprint.
- SGH-T769 / Galaxy S Blaze 4G platform fit: These four models share the same battery bay dimensions (65 × 48 × 5mm), the same 3.7V nominal voltage rail, and the same connector pinout. The BMS on each device communicates charge state over the same three-contact layout, so the replacement cell negotiates correctly with the charge IC on all four handsets.
- Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this cell on a SGH-T769 unit and monitored BMS handshake, charge termination voltage, and cutoff behaviour under screen and modem load. The cell reaches full termination at 4.2V and the BMS cuts discharge cleanly before rail collapse.
- Fuel gauge recalibration on first cycle: After installing this cell, disable fast charging and run one complete discharge down to auto-shutdown, then charge fully. This lets the fuel gauge IC map its coulomb counter against the new cell's actual discharge curve before any high-current session pushes current into an uncalibrated state.
Sudden shutdown at 20–30% on the SGH-T769 after a cell swap
The SGH-T769's fuel gauge IC stores a discharge curve from the old cell in non-volatile memory. When a new cell goes in, that stored curve no longer matches the actual voltage-versus-capacity profile of the replacement. At around 20–30% reported charge, the real cell voltage drops below what the modem and display demand under simultaneous load, and the phone shuts off even though the percentage shown looks safe. Running one full discharge-to-cutoff cycle forces the coulomb counter to resync. After that cycle, the reported percentage tracks the actual cell state accurately.
Phone feels warm near the battery bay during the first charge
A freshly manufactured cell has higher internal impedance than a broken-in cell. During the first few charge cycles, that impedance causes the cell to dissipate slightly more energy as heat as charge current flows in. This is normal and resolves as the cell's impedance drops over the first three to five cycles. If warmth is concentrated at the charge port rather than the battery bay, check that the USB cable is seated fully and the port contacts are clean — a resistive connection at the port generates heat independently of the cell.

Frequently Asked Questions
My Galaxy S Blaze 4G won't turn on at all after sitting in a drawer for months — is the new battery dead too?
The BMS on the EB-L1G5HBA cell locks out discharge when the cell voltage drops below approximately 2.5V, which happens after extended storage. Connect the phone to a wall charger — not a PC USB port — and leave it for 20–30 minutes before attempting to power on. The charge IC will trickle current into the locked-out cell until voltage rises enough for the BMS to release. If the screen shows nothing after 30 minutes on the wall charger, try a second known-good cable before concluding the cell is unrecoverable.
The battery percentage on my SGH-T769 jumps around erratically — reads 60%, then 80%, then 45% within minutes.
This is the fuel gauge IC recalibrating against a cell it has never seen before. The coulomb counter in the SGH-T769 tracks charge state by integrating current over time, but its reference points come from the old cell's impedance profile. With a new cell installed, those reference points are wrong until the IC observes at least one full discharge from 100% to automatic shutdown. Run that single uninterrupted full cycle and the percentage reporting will stabilise. Do not interrupt the cycle by plugging in mid-discharge.
Fast charging worked on my old battery but the SGH-T769 is only trickle charging with the replacement cell.
On the first cycle after a cell swap, the phone's charge IC defaults to a lower current rate because it has no stored data on the new cell's impedance or thermal response. This is a protective default — not a fault with the replacement cell. Complete one full charge at the slow rate, unplug, then discharge fully and recharge. By the second or third cycle the charge IC steps up to its normal current rate once it has characterised the new cell. If the phone is still trickle charging after three full cycles, clean the battery contacts with a dry cloth and reseat the cell.
