Battery Care Tips
Battery Care Tips
🔹 Getting Started
Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.
🔹 Keep It Healthy
Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping
🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

AT&T Galaxy Exhilarate / SGH-I577 — 3.7V Li-ion Replacement Battery (EB-L1G5HBA)
This is a 3.7V 1500mAh Li-ion battery for the AT&T Galaxy Exhilarate, Galaxy Exhilarate 4G, and SGH-I577. It replaces OEM part numbers EB-L1G5HBA, EB-L1G5HBABXAR, and EB-L1G5HVA. Swap it when the original cell no longer holds a usable charge or swells from repeated charge cycles.
- Galaxy Exhilarate 4G and SGH-I577 fit: Both variants share the same battery bay dimensions (65 × 48 × 5mm), connector pinout, and BMS handshake voltage. One cell fits all three model numbers without any modification.
- Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled the cell through full charge and load discharge on the SGH-I577 platform. The BMS responded correctly to charge termination at 4.2V and held low-voltage cutoff without tripping early under display and modem load.
- Fuel gauge recalibration on first use: On first use after installation, disable fast charging and run one complete discharge-to-charge cycle. This lets the fuel gauge IC map the new cell's discharge curve before high-current charging is applied to an uncalibrated cell.
Why the Galaxy Exhilarate shuts down suddenly at 20–30% after a cell swap
The phone's fuel gauge IC holds a discharge curve calibrated to the original cell. A new cell with a different internal resistance profile hits a voltage cliff earlier under combined modem and display load — the IC sees terminal voltage drop below its threshold and triggers shutdown before the percentage counter reaches zero. This is not a fault with the replacement cell. One full discharge cycle without fast charging allows the coulomb counter to resynchronise against the new cell's actual voltage curve. After that cycle, the shutdown-at-percentage behaviour typically resolves.
Phone warm near the battery compartment during first charge
A new Li-ion cell starts with higher internal impedance than a broken-in cell. The charge IC pushes current into that higher resistance, generating more heat in the first few cycles. This is normal and decreases as the cell completes two or three full cycles. If the back of the device stays warm beyond the first three cycles, check that the charge IC is not locked into a higher constant-current phase — verify charge termination by checking the status LED drops to trickle at 4.18–4.20V.

Frequently Asked Questions
My Galaxy Exhilarate keeps jumping between 45% and 60% battery every few minutes after I put the new battery in — is something wrong?
Nothing is wrong with the cell. The fuel gauge IC is recalibrating its coulomb counter against the new cell's discharge curve, and the percentage will jump until that mapping stabilises. Run one full discharge from 100% down to automatic shutdown, then charge uninterrupted to 100% without fast charging enabled. The erratic percentage readings typically stop after that single calibration cycle.
The phone won't power on at all after the replacement battery sat in a drawer for a few months before I installed it — is it dead?
The cell likely discharged below the BMS lockout threshold of around 2.5V during storage. Connect the phone to a wall charger and leave it for 20–30 minutes without pressing the power button — the charge IC needs time to trickle current into the cell before the BMS will allow a normal boot. If the charging indicator appears, continue charging until the phone powers on normally. If no indicator appears after 45 minutes, the cell has reached an unrecoverable deep discharge state.
Fast charging stopped working after I swapped in the replacement battery — the phone only charges slowly now.
On the first charge cycle after a cell swap, the BMS on the new cell may not immediately accept the handshake from the phone's USB charging protocol, falling back to standard 5V charging instead. Complete one full charge cycle at the slower rate without interrupting the charge. On the second cycle, fast charging typically resumes once the BMS has completed its initial communication exchange with the charge IC at a known state of charge.
