Battery Care Tips
Battery Care Tips
🔹 Getting Started
Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.
🔹 Keep It Healthy
Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping
🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Verizon Galaxy Nexus i515 — 3.7V Li-ion Replacement Battery (EB-L1D7IVZ)
This 3.7V, 3300mAh Li-ion battery replaces the original EB-L1D7IVZ cell in the Verizon Galaxy Nexus i515, Nexus 4G LTE, and SCH-I515 smartphones. It fits the same footprint as the stock cell at 56 x 51 x 11mm. Capacity is rated at 12.21Wh.
- Galaxy Nexus i515 / SCH-I515 fitment: These models share the same battery bay geometry, connector pinout, and BMS communication protocol. One cell covers all three variants without modification.
- Bench tested on actual hardware: We ran this cell through full charge-discharge cycles on a Galaxy Nexus i515. The BMS handshake completed correctly and charge IC accepted the cell without error flags.
- Fuel gauge recalibration on first use: On first installation, run one complete discharge to auto-shutdown, then charge uninterrupted to 100%. This gives the fuel gauge IC a full reference curve against the new cell before the OS starts reporting capacity.
Why the Galaxy Nexus i515 reports wrong battery percentage after a cell swap
The Galaxy Nexus uses a coulomb counter in the fuel gauge IC to track state of charge. That counter was calibrated to the discharge curve of the original cell. When you install a new cell with a different internal resistance profile, the IC's stored curve no longer matches actual voltage-versus-capacity behaviour. The OS reads an interpolated value from a stale table, so percentages can jump or freeze at arbitrary points. One full discharge-to-shutdown followed by an uninterrupted charge to 100% forces the IC to rewrite its reference data against the new cell.
Sudden shutdown at 20–30% on the replacement cell
This happens when the cell voltage drops below the modem's or display's minimum rail voltage under load, even though the fuel gauge still reads 20–30%. A new cell with slightly different internal resistance will sag harder under the LTE radio's burst draw than the gauge expects. The BMS trips a low-voltage cutoff before the percentage reaches zero. After the first full calibration cycle, the fuel gauge IC maps the sag behaviour correctly and the shutdown threshold aligns closer to the real 0% point — typically below 3.4V under load.

Frequently Asked Questions
The phone won't turn on at all after the replacement battery sat in a drawer for a few months — is the cell dead?
Probably not dead, but the BMS has locked out the cell due to voltage dropping below 2.5V per cell during storage. Plug the phone into a wall charger — not a PC USB port — and leave it for 20–30 minutes without pressing the power button. The charge IC needs to trickle current into the cell before the BMS will re-initialise. If the screen shows a charging indicator after that window, the cell is recovering; let it charge fully to 100% before first use.
The OS percentage is jumping around erratically — 60% one minute, 45% the next — is the battery faulty?
The battery itself is not faulty. The fuel gauge IC is recalibrating against the new cell's discharge curve, which differs from the original. Erratic readings are normal for the first one to two full cycles. Run one complete discharge to auto-shutdown, then charge uninterrupted to 100%. The coulomb counter resets its reference table and readings stabilise — typically within two full cycles.
The phone gets noticeably warm near the battery compartment during the first few charges — is that safe?
A new high-impedance cell draws more resistive heat during initial charge cycles than a broken-in cell. The charge IC compensates by varying current, which generates heat at the battery contacts. Surface warmth during charging is normal for the first three to five cycles as internal resistance drops. If the phone becomes too hot to hold or shuts down during charging, disconnect immediately and check that the battery contacts are seated flat — a misaligned cell increases contact resistance and heat at 3.7V.
