Fits Samsung SH5051 and compatible models; replaces OEM part DJ96-00041B.
10.8V, 2000mAh Ni-MH pack delivers steady voltage to the motor under normal carpet loading.
Slide connector seats into the battery slot; locking tab engages on both sides for secure seating.
We tested the pack on a VC-PS83 platform; BMS engaged stable on first full charge cycle.
Do not leave this vacuum on the charging dock continuously — Ni-MH cells on trickle charge lose capacity faster than those charged only when depleted and removed.

Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Samsung SH5051 / VC-PS83 Series — 10.8V Ni-MH Replacement Battery (DJ96-00041B)

This is a 10.8V, 2000mAh Ni-MH replacement battery for Samsung cordless stick vacuums. It fits the SH5051, VC-PS83, VC-PS85, VCH5051S1S, and related models. OEM part number DJ96-00041B.

  • SH5051 and VC-PS83/PS85 platform: These models share the same battery bay geometry, connector pinout, and 10.8V motor rail. One battery pack covers the entire group without modification.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We ran this pack through charge and discharge cycles on a vacuum unit. The BMS held cutoff voltage correctly at the low-cell threshold and accepted charge from the OEM dock without faulting.
  • Dock charging discipline on Ni-MH cells: Do not leave this vacuum sitting on the charging dock continuously. Ni-MH chemistry is particularly vulnerable to trickle charge damage from permanent docking. Charge to full, then remove from the dock until the next use.

Suction dropping before the battery indicator reaches low

This happens when the motor draws more current than the battery can sustain under load — not a low-charge issue. A partially blocked filter forces the motor to work harder, pulling current above the pack's rated delivery. The cell voltage sags under that demand, and the motor slows before the indicator reacts. Clean or replace the filter first, then retest. If suction recovers, the battery was not the problem.

Motor cuts out mid-use then restarts after a short pause

This is a BMS overcurrent trip, not a dead battery. When suction is restricted — blocked nozzle, clogged filter, or hair wrap on the brush roll — the motor draws sustained high current. The BMS interprets that as a fault and opens the circuit. It resets after the pack cools slightly, which is why the vacuum restarts. Fix the restriction first. If trips continue on a clear airpath, check that cell voltage under load stays above 9.0V.

Frequently Asked Questions

My Samsung SH5051 had strong suction for the first few weeks with the new battery, but now it fades fast — what's causing that?

Capacity fade this early on a Ni-MH pack is almost always caused by continuous dock charging. Leaving the vacuum plugged in after a full charge runs a slow trickle current through the cells, and Ni-MH degrades quickly under that pattern. Remove the vacuum from the dock once it reaches full charge and only dock it again when the battery is depleted. That single change stops the fade cycle.

The vacuum cuts out about halfway through a session, sits for a minute, then works again — is the battery faulty?

That cut-and-recover pattern is a BMS overcurrent trip, not a cell failure. The BMS shuts the pack down when current draw spikes beyond the rated threshold — usually from a restricted airpath — then resets once the pack temperature drops. Check the filter, nozzle, and brush roll for blockage before assuming the battery is at fault. If the cut-outs continue with a completely clear airpath, test cell voltage under load — it should hold above 9.0V during operation.

The replacement battery fits the dock but the vacuum won't start charging — the light just blinks and stops. What's wrong?

Some Samsung chargers send a low-voltage probe signal before committing to a full charge cycle, and if the replacement pack's BMS does not respond within the expected window, the charger faults out. Remove the pack from the dock, wait 60 seconds, and reinsert it — this clears the fault state on most units. If the blinking continues, confirm the pack resting voltage is above 9.5V with a multimeter; a deeply discharged cell can fall below the charger's accept threshold and needs a slow pre-charge to recover.
