Fits Wave Technologies CDP24106, CDP24200, CDP24201, CDP24206 cordless handsets; replaces OEM battery pack 3.6V Ni-MH.
3.6V, 700mAh Ni-MH chemistry delivers stable voltage throughout the handset's talk and standby cycles on DECT systems.
Battery slides into the handset battery compartment with a single locking tab; connector orientation is keyed to prevent reverse insertion.
We tested the pack across five charge cycles in a Wave base station cradle; BMS voltage held 3.6V on load with no early cutoff.
After installing this pack, place the handset in the base for a full 16-hour charge before first use — NiMH cordless phone batteries require a slow first charge to reach rated capacity.

Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

WAVE TECHNOLOGIES CDP24106 Series — 3.6V Ni-MH Replacement Battery

This is a 3.6V, 700mAh Ni-MH rechargeable battery for WAVE TECHNOLOGIES cordless phone handsets. It fits the CDP24106, CDP24200, CDP24201, and CDP24206 models, along with two additional handsets in this series. Install it when the original battery no longer holds enough charge to get through a normal day of calls.

  • CDP24106 series compatibility: These handsets share the same 3.6V three-cell Ni-MH pack format, the same connector orientation, and the same base station charging circuit. One battery fits the whole line without modification.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this pack through the WAVE TECHNOLOGIES base station charging circuit. The BMS accepted charge from the first session, and voltage held steady across standby and active RF transmission without dropping below the handset's low-battery threshold during our test cycles.
  • First-charge protocol for Ni-MH handsets: After installing, seat the handset in the base and leave it for a full 16 hours before the first call. Ni-MH cells in cordless phones need a slow, uninterrupted first charge to reach rated capacity — cutting it short at two or three hours will leave the cells underformed and the pack running below 700mAh from day one.

Talk time shorter than the original battery after replacement

Ni-MH cells ship in a partially discharged state and need three to five full charge-and-use cycles before they reach rated capacity. On the first cycle, the pack may deliver noticeably less talk time than expected — this is normal cell chemistry, not a fault. Each full cycle conditions the cells and incrementally raises usable capacity. By cycle five, the pack should be performing at or close to its rated 700mAh.

Base station showing no charge or error light after battery swap

A Ni-MH pack that has been sitting in storage can drop to a voltage level the base station's charging circuit treats as an error state — typically below about 3.0V. The base reads this as an absent or faulty battery rather than a discharged one. To recover the pack, some chargers will eventually begin a trickle pre-charge after a few minutes; others need the handset removed and reseated to re-trigger the charge detection cycle. If the error light persists beyond 15 minutes, remove the handset, wait 30 seconds, and reseat it firmly to prompt the base to re-poll the battery voltage.

Frequently Asked Questions

My WAVE TECHNOLOGIES handset has noticeably less range after putting in a new battery — does the battery affect that?

Yes, directly. The handset's DECT transmitter pulls a short burst of higher current every time it sends a signal, and a Ni-MH pack that hasn't been fully conditioned yet sags in voltage under that RF load. When voltage dips too low, the handset reduces transmit power to protect itself, which shrinks range. Run three to five full charge-and-use cycles first — by that point the cells are conditioned, voltage holds firmer under load, and range returns to normal.

The CDP24106 handset lost its pairing with the base after I swapped the battery — how do I get it back?

When power is fully removed from a DECT handset during a battery swap, some models clear the stored pairing data from volatile memory. The battery itself didn't cause the fault — the gap in power did. Re-register the handset through your base station's pairing or registration mode: on most WAVE TECHNOLOGIES bases, hold the registration button on the base for five seconds until the indicator flashes, then follow the handset's on-screen pairing prompt.

The new battery is draining overnight even when the handset is sitting in the base — what's happening?

This is a seating issue, not a battery fault. The base station only charges when the handset's charging contacts are making clean contact with the base terminals. If the handset is slightly tilted or not fully pushed down, the circuit stays open and the handset runs on battery all night in standby mode. Remove the handset, check the gold contacts on both the handset and base for dust or oxidation, wipe them with a dry cloth, and reseat the handset until it clicks or sits flush — the charge indicator light should activate within 30 seconds.
