Fits Sencor SPV7721 and SPV-7721T portable DVD players; replaces OEM battery GSP613762.
7.4V, 1900mAh Li-Polymer cell delivers the sustained current needed for disc motor spin-up and display backlight without voltage sag mid-movie.
Connector slides onto the player's battery contact block with a single locking tab; orientation marked on the housing.
We bench-tested the BMS under combined disc motor and display draw; voltage held steady through spin-up cycles without thermal cutoff triggering.
On first charge, use the Sencor charger at standard rate — this Li-Polymer pack's thermal management works best below 1A input current.

Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Sencor SPV7721 — 7.4V Li-Polymer Replacement Battery (GSP613762)

This 7.4V, 1900mAh Li-Polymer battery replaces the GSP613762 cell in the Sencor SPV7721 and SPV-7721T portable DVD players. It powers the display, disc motor, and onboard audio simultaneously. Capacity figure is 14.06Wh at rated voltage.

  • SPV7721 and SPV-7721T fit: Both models share the same battery bay dimensions (64.40 × 36.50 × 12.10mm), the same 7.4V supply rail, and the same GSP613762 part number — one cell covers both.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled the cell through full charge and playback load. The BMS held steady voltage across the disc motor spin-up draw and display backlight without triggering low-voltage cutoff.
  • First-use charge on portable DVD players: Li-Polymer cells ship at storage voltage — typically 3.7–3.8V per cell. The SPV7721 may refuse to start or show an immediate low-battery indicator if you skip the initial full charge. Charge completely before first playback session.

Disc not spinning after battery replacement in the SPV7721

The disc motor in the SPV7721 draws a short burst of peak current at spin-up — higher than the steady draw during playback. If the battery voltage is still at storage level, that burst can pull the cell below the BMS cutoff threshold before the disc reaches operating speed. The player then shows no disc or freezes at the loading screen. A full charge cycle before use raises the cell voltage high enough to handle the spin-up surge without tripping protection.

Screen dimming mid-movie on the SPV7721

The SPV7721's display driver monitors supply voltage and steps down backlight current when the battery sags below roughly 6.8V under combined disc and display load. This shows up as a gradual dim that gets worse toward the end of playback. It is not a screen fault — it is the display circuit protecting itself from undervoltage. Avoid charging and playing simultaneously where possible, as the combined draw accelerates voltage sag. If dimming starts earlier than expected on a new battery, check that the cell reached a full charge before use.

Frequently Asked Questions

My Sencor SPV7721 won't start at all after fitting the new battery — is the battery faulty?

Almost certainly not faulty — Li-Polymer cells ship at storage voltage, around 3.7–3.8V per cell, which is below the threshold the SPV7721 needs to boot. The BMS will block output until the cell is within operating range. Charge the battery fully using the player's AC adapter before attempting to power it on. If the player still won't start after a complete charge cycle, check that the battery connector is fully seated.

The disc keeps stuttering or stopping shortly after the SPV7721 starts playing — what's causing that?

The disc motor pulls a spike of current every time it adjusts speed to track the disc. If the battery voltage is marginal — either low charge or a degraded cell — that current spike drops voltage below the BMS cutoff and the motor loses power mid-spin. The player reads this as a disc error. Charge the battery to full, then test. If stuttering continues at full charge, the cell may have developed high internal resistance and needs replacement.

The SPV7721 runs noticeably less on this new battery than it used to on the original — why?

Disc spin plus display backlight is a higher combined draw than most portable electronics. If the player is running while charging at the same time, the charging circuit adds heat and the thermal protection in the battery can reduce available current, which shortens usable capacity. Run the player on battery only — no AC adapter connected — and charge separately between sessions. Capacity is rated at 1900mAh at a standard discharge rate; simultaneous charging and playback pulls above that rate and reduces effective output.
