Battery Care Tips
Battery Care Tips
🔹 Getting Started
Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.
🔹 Keep It Healthy
Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping
🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Shark IZ201 / IZ251 Series — 25.2V Li-ion Replacement Battery (XSBT700)
This is a 25.2V, 2000mAh lithium-ion battery replacing the original XSBT700 pack. It fits the Shark IZ201, IZ251, IZ462H, IZ482H, and 17 additional IZ-series cordless stick vacuums. Voltage and cell count match the original — the BMS on these models will reject packs that fall outside the expected range.
- IZ-series platform fit: The IZ201 through IZ482H models share a common 25.2V (6S) battery architecture and the same slide-in connector rail. Swapping within this group works because the motor controller and BMS handshake are calibrated to the same voltage profile — not just the connector shape.
- Bench tested on actual hardware: We ran this pack on an IZ201 under repeated carpet-load cycles. The BMS held cutoff at the correct low-voltage threshold and did not trip on motor-start inrush — a common failure point on replacement cells with undersized protection circuits.
- Dock charging habit on IZ-series vacuums: Do not leave the vacuum sitting on the charging dock between uses. These models draw a trickle current continuously when docked, and sustained trickle charging accelerates cell capacity fade faster than normal discharge cycles. Charge to full, then remove from the dock.
Cordless vacuum losing suction before the battery indicator reaches low
On the IZ201 and related models, suction can drop noticeably while the battery indicator still shows two or three bars. This happens because the motor is drawing above its rated current — usually caused by a partially blocked filter, not a failing battery. The BMS reads the elevated current draw and throttles output voltage to protect the cells, which the vacuum's motor controller interprets as low power. Clean or replace the foam and felt filters first, then retest before assuming the battery is at fault.
Motor cuts out mid-clean then recovers after a short pause
This is a BMS overcurrent trip, not a dead battery. When airflow is restricted — blocked filter, clogged brush roll, or a carpet pile that stalls the motor briefly — current spikes past the BMS cutoff threshold and the pack shuts off. Letting the vacuum sit for 30–60 seconds resets the protection circuit and restores power. Clear the restriction, check that the brush roll spins freely, and confirm the filter is clean. If the cutout happens on open hard floor with no blockage, measure pack voltage under load — it should not fall below 21V during normal operation.

Frequently Asked Questions
My Shark IZ201 has a new battery but the suction still feels weak — what's actually going on?
A fresh battery will not fix suction loss caused by a blocked filter or clogged brush roll. On the IZ-series, a restricted airflow path forces the motor to pull excess current, which causes the BMS to throttle output — the vacuum runs, but at reduced power. Remove and rinse the foam filter, check the felt filter, and clear any debris from the brush roll before testing again. If suction improves immediately, the battery was never the problem.
The vacuum worked fine for a year, now the battery drains noticeably faster — did I get a bad replacement cell?
Rapid capacity fade on IZ-series vacuums is almost always caused by continuous dock charging, not a defective cell. These models trickle-charge whenever they sit in the dock, and sustained trickle current degrades lithium-ion cells faster than normal use cycles. If the replacement pack has been stored on the dock between every use, remove it, fully discharge through normal vacuuming, charge to 100%, then remove from the dock immediately. Repeat this pattern — capacity should stabilise within a few cycles.
The IZ251 powers on but shuts off after a few seconds on thick carpet — is this a battery fault or something else?
This is almost always a BMS overcurrent trip triggered by high motor load on dense carpet, not a faulty battery. When the brush roll meets resistance, current demand spikes above the BMS cutoff threshold and the pack disconnects to protect the cells. Wait 60 seconds, restart on a hard floor surface, and check that the brush roll spins freely by hand. If the shutoff does not repeat on hard floor, the fix is clearing the brush roll and cleaning the filters — not replacing the battery again.
