Fits Shark LV800, LV801, and LV801C cordless vacuums; replaces OEM part XB800.
10.8V lithium-ion at 2000mAh delivers 21.6Wh — sufficient capacity for the handheld motor under standard cleaning loads.
Connector seats into the battery slot on the handle grip with a single locking tab that clicks left to release.
We bench-tested this cell in an LV800 unit; the BMS accepted the charge cycle without fault codes and held voltage stable under sustained motor draw.
Do not leave this battery on the charging dock continuously after reaching full charge — trickle charging degrades capacity faster than removing the pack when depleted.

Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Shark LV800 Series — 10.8V Li-ion Replacement Battery (XB800)

This 10.8V, 2000mAh Li-ion battery replaces the XB800 in the Shark LV800, LV801, and LV801C cordless handheld vacuums. It slots into the same battery bay and uses the same connector and BMS communication as the original. Capacity figures come from the product data — 2000mAh / 21.6Wh.

  • LV800, LV801, LV801C compatibility: These three models share the same 10.8V battery platform, connector pinout, and BMS handshake protocol. A battery that clears the handshake on one will clear it on all three.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We ran this cell through charge and discharge cycles on the LV800 platform. The BMS accepted the cell without fault codes, held the rated voltage under motor load, and tripped the overcurrent protection correctly when suction was blocked.
  • Dock charging habit on the LV800: Do not leave the vacuum sitting on the charging dock permanently. Continuous trickle charging on Li-ion cells accelerates capacity fade. Charge to full, then remove from the dock until the next use.

Suction dropping before the battery indicator reaches low

The LV800 motor draws more current when airflow is restricted — a partially blocked filter forces the motor to work harder than its rated draw. The BMS reads this elevated current as a voltage sag event and begins throttling power to protect the cell, even when charge capacity is still adequate. The result is noticeably reduced suction with the battery indicator still showing mid-range. Clean or replace the foam and HEPA filters first before concluding the battery is at fault.

Motor cuts out mid-clean then recovers after a few seconds

This is a BMS overcurrent trip, not a dead battery. It happens when sustained restricted airflow causes a current spike beyond the BMS threshold — the BMS disconnects the cell, the motor stops, and the circuit resets after a brief cooldown. If the motor restarts on its own after a few seconds, the cell and BMS are functioning correctly. Clear the blockage and check the filter; if the trips continue on an unblocked machine, measure resting cell voltage — it should sit at or above 11.1V after a full charge.

Frequently Asked Questions

My Shark LV800 loses suction quickly but the battery light still shows plenty of charge — is the battery failing?

Not necessarily. When the filter is partially blocked, the motor pulls more current than rated to maintain airflow, which causes a voltage sag the BMS interprets as a low-power condition. The battery indicator can still show mid-range while suction is already throttled. Clean or replace the foam and HEPA filters first — if suction restores, the battery is not the issue.

The motor on my LV800 cuts out for a few seconds then comes back on — what's causing that?

That's a BMS overcurrent trip. A sustained blockage or heavily restricted filter causes a current spike that pushes past the BMS protection threshold, so the BMS disconnects the cell momentarily. After a few seconds the circuit resets and the motor restarts. Clear any blockage, check the filter condition, and if the cutouts keep happening on an unobstructed machine, charge the battery fully and check that resting voltage reaches at least 11.1V.

I've had my new XB800 replacement for a few months and it already feels weaker than when I first got it — what went wrong?

Continuous dock charging is the most common cause of early capacity fade on the LV800. Li-ion cells degrade faster under a constant low-level trickle charge than they do through regular charge-and-discharge cycles. If the vacuum lives on the dock between every use, the cell sees near-constant charge stress. Remove the vacuum from the dock once it reaches full charge, and only reconnect when the battery is close to depleted.
