Fits Sony PSP-S110 battery slot across PSP 2th, Lite, PSP-2000, and PSP-3000 models.
3.7V, 1200mAh lithium-ion cell delivers 4.44Wh — matches OEM output for extended handheld sessions.
Connector seats flush into PSP battery bay with no tab friction or alignment issues required.
We bench-tested discharge curves against OEM cells; BMS showed stable voltage regulation under load.
On first use after install, run one complete wireless play session to automatic cutoff before recharging — the PSP fuel gauge calibrates against initial discharge to set the empty reference point.

Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Sony PSP-2000 / PSP-3000 Series — 3.7V Li-ion Replacement Battery (PSP-S110)

This is a 3.7V, 1200mAh Li-ion replacement for the Sony PSP-S110 battery. It fits the PSP 2th (PSP-2000), PSP-3000, and PSP Lite handhelds. Install it when the original cell no longer holds a charge or the console shuts down unpredictably mid-session.

  • PSP-2000, PSP-3000, and Lite compatibility: These three PSP generations share the same battery bay dimensions, connector pinout, and charge IC handshake protocol — which is why a single PSP-S110 cell works across all of them without modification.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We ran this cell through full charge and discharge cycles on a PSP-2000 unit. The BMS accepted charge immediately and cut off cleanly at the low-voltage threshold without triggering a hard shutdown loop.
  • First-cycle fuel gauge calibration: After installing, run one complete play session to automatic cutoff before recharging. The PSP fuel gauge IC sets its empty reference point against the first full discharge cycle — skip this and the on-screen battery indicator will read inaccurately for weeks.

PSP fuel gauge jumping or freezing after a cell swap

The PSP uses a coulomb-counting fuel gauge IC that tracks charge in and out of the cell over time. When you swap to a new cell, that IC still holds the discharge curve data from the old, degraded battery. Until it recalibrates, the percentage readout can jump, freeze, or drop suddenly from 50% to empty. One full discharge-to-cutoff cycle followed by an uninterrupted charge to 100% resets the reference. After two to three cycles, the gauge settles to accurate readings.

Console shuts down before the battery indicator hits empty

This usually means the replacement cell is experiencing voltage sag under the PSP's peak CPU and UMD drive load combined. At high draw, terminal voltage can dip below the 3.0V cutoff threshold even when resting voltage says the cell still has capacity. Check that the battery contacts in the bay are clean and making full contact — oxidised pins add resistance and worsen sag. If the shutdowns continue after cleaning the contacts, allow two more full conditioning cycles; new cells often sag less once the electrolyte has fully wetted the electrode stack.

Frequently Asked Questions

My PSP shows a full charge right after I put in the new battery, then drops to empty and shuts off within a few minutes of playing — what's happening?

The fuel gauge IC carried over its discharge curve from the degraded original cell, so its capacity map is wrong for the new one. Run the console from a full charge all the way down to automatic shutdown without interrupting play — this forces the IC to log a real discharge curve against the new cell. Recharge fully without interruption. Repeat two more times and the gauge and cutoff behaviour will normalise.

The new battery is charging, but it seems to top out and stop accepting charge much earlier than expected — is the charge IC capping it?

Yes — the PSP charge controller applies a conservative current limit when it detects a new cell whose internal resistance profile doesn't match its stored reference. This is normal and not a fault. It clears itself after one complete charge-discharge cycle. Run the console to automatic cutoff, then charge uninterrupted to 100%; the charge IC will step up to full rate on the next cycle.

I reassembled the PSP after the battery swap and now the analog stick is drifting — did I damage something during the swap?

Stick drift appearing immediately after a battery swap almost always points to a grounding or connector seating issue, not a damaged stick component. The PSP's analog stick board shares a ground path through the main board connector near the battery bay — if that connector isn't fully seated after reassembly, the stick reports a false offset. Power off, open the rear cover, reseat the ribbon connector on the analog stick board, and confirm the battery connector is fully clicked in before closing up.
