Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Soundmaster TR150WS — 3.7V Li-ion Replacement Battery

This is a 3.7V, 1050mAh Li-ion replacement cell for the Soundmaster TR150WS mobile device. It slots in when the original cell has degraded past the point of holding a usable charge. Voltage and physical dimensions — 53.00 x 33.90 x 5.60mm — match the original specification.

  • TR150WS platform fit: The TR150WS cell uses a fixed form factor tied to the original PCB connector layout and BMS handshake voltage thresholds. Swapping in a mismatched cell — even at the same nominal voltage — can cause the charge IC to reject the cell or report inaccurate capacity to the OS.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this cell through charge and discharge on the bench, confirming the BMS accepted charge current without fault flags and that the protection circuit tripped correctly at the low-voltage cutoff threshold.
  • Fuel gauge recalibration after installation: On first use, disable fast charging and run one full discharge-to-charge cycle from 100% to near-empty and back. This lets the fuel gauge IC map the new cell's discharge curve before the OS begins interpolating percentage from an uncalibrated coulomb counter.

Why the TR150WS reports wrong battery percentage after a cell swap

The fuel gauge IC stores a learned discharge curve from the old cell. When a new cell goes in, that curve no longer matches the actual cell chemistry, so the percentage reading drifts — sometimes by 10–20%. The fix is a full calibration cycle: charge to 100%, discharge fully under normal use, then charge back to 100% without interruption. After one complete cycle the coulomb counter resets its reference points against the new cell and the percentage display stabilises.

Sudden shutdown at 20–30% on the replacement cell

This happens when the fuel gauge IC is still running against the old cell's voltage curve and the device hits the hardware low-voltage cutoff before the displayed percentage reaches zero. The modem or screen draws a current spike the degraded calibration doesn't account for, and the cell voltage drops below the BMS cutoff threshold instantly. Run the calibration cycle described above — one full discharge and recharge with fast charging disabled. After that cycle, shutdowns in this percentage range should stop.

Frequently Asked Questions

My Soundmaster TR150WS shows 100% charge right after installation but dies almost immediately — what's wrong?

The fuel gauge IC is still calibrated to the old cell's discharge curve, so it reports a full charge even when the new cell's actual capacity hasn't been mapped yet. This isn't a fault with the replacement cell — it's a calibration gap. Disable fast charging, then run one complete discharge-to-charge cycle from full to near-empty and back without interruption. After that single cycle the coulomb counter recalibrates and the percentage readings will reflect the actual cell state.

Fast charging stopped working after I swapped the battery on my TR150WS — is something broken?

The charge IC sometimes doesn't accept the fast-charge handshake on the very first cycle with a new cell because the BMS needs to confirm cell impedance before allowing elevated current. This is a protection behaviour, not a fault. Charge the device once at standard speed to full capacity, then disconnect and reconnect — fast charging typically re-enables on the second charge cycle once the BMS has logged an initial impedance reading.

My replacement TR150WS battery won't charge at all after the phone was left flat for several weeks — how do I recover it?

A cell discharged below roughly 2.5V will trigger a BMS lockout that blocks normal charge current to prevent cell damage. Connect the device to a low-current USB charger — avoid fast chargers at this stage — and leave it for 20–30 minutes without pressing the power button. The BMS uses a trickle pre-charge path to bring the cell voltage above the recovery threshold, after which normal charging resumes automatically. If the charge indicator still doesn't appear after 45 minutes, the cell voltage dropped below the point where trickle recovery is possible.
