Battery Care Tips
Battery Care Tips
🔹 Getting Started
Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.
🔹 Keep It Healthy
Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping
🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

ZIKOM Z650 / Z660 / Z710 — 3.7V Li-ion Replacement Battery
This is a 3.7V, 1050mAh (3.89Wh) lithium-ion cell built to replace the original battery in ZIKOM smartphones using part numbers Z650, Z660, or Z710. It fits devices where the original cell has degraded or failed completely. Dimensions are 53.00 × 33.90 × 5.60mm — measure your existing cell before ordering.
- Z650 / Z660 / Z710 platform fit: These three part numbers share a common cell footprint and connector pinout across the ZIKOM smartphone range that uses this form factor. Voltage rail and BMS handshake are consistent across all three, which is why a single replacement cell covers all of them.
- Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this cell through charge and discharge on the bench with a Z650-compatible unit. The BMS accepted charge without triggering overvoltage cutoff, and the protection circuit responded correctly at the low-voltage threshold before cell damage could occur.
- First-cycle calibration tip: On first use after installation, disable fast charging and run one full discharge-to-charge cycle. This gives the fuel gauge IC time to map the new cell's discharge curve before high-current charging pushes power into an uncalibrated cell, which can cause erratic percentage readings early on.
Why the phone reports wrong battery percentage after a cell swap
The fuel gauge IC on ZIKOM smartphones uses a coulomb counter that was calibrated against the old cell's discharge curve. When a new cell goes in, the stored curve no longer matches the actual voltage-to-capacity relationship of the fresh cell. This causes the OS to report inflated or deflated percentages until the IC relearns. Run one complete discharge down to automatic shutdown, then charge to 100% without interruption — the gauge recalibrates during that full cycle.
Sudden shutdown at 20–30% on the replacement cell
This happens when the cell voltage drops sharply under load — typically during a modem transmission burst or screen-on peak draw — and hits the BMS low-voltage cutoff before the gauge shows 0%. The fuel gauge IC reads average voltage, not instantaneous sag, so the percentage looks healthy right until the shutdown. After the first full calibration cycle, the gauge tracks the sag pattern better and the shutdowns typically stop. If they continue past two full cycles, check that the cell connector is fully seated — a loose contact increases resistance and worsens voltage sag under load.

Frequently Asked Questions
The phone powered off after sitting in a drawer for months and now won't turn on at all — is the battery dead?
The cell has likely dropped below 2.5V per cell, which triggers BMS lockout to prevent further discharge damage. Plug into a wall charger — not a USB port — and leave it for at least 30 minutes before pressing the power button. A wall adapter delivers enough current to nudge the BMS out of lockout and begin a recovery charge. If the screen shows a charging indicator after that window, the cell is recovering; if nothing appears after 60 minutes on the wall charger, the cell has dropped too far and will need replacement.
Fast charging stopped working after I swapped in the replacement battery — it only slow charges now.
The USB-PD or proprietary fast-charge handshake between the charger and the phone's charge IC is sometimes rejected on the first cycle when the BMS on a new cell hasn't completed its initial charge profile. Run one full slow charge to 100%, then disconnect and let the phone rest for five minutes before reconnecting to the fast charger. That rest period resets the charge IC negotiation and the handshake usually completes correctly on the second connection. If fast charging still doesn't engage after this, confirm the charging cable supports the required current — a standard USB cable without the correct data pin wiring will block the handshake entirely.
The phone feels noticeably warm near the battery area during the first few charges — is that normal?
A new high-impedance cell generates more heat during early charge cycles than a broken-in cell does. The charge IC pushes current through higher internal resistance on a fresh cell, and that converts to heat. Warmth — not hot to the touch — during the first two or three charges is expected and tapers off as the cell conditions. If the phone becomes too hot to hold comfortably, stop charging, let it cool to room temperature, and restart the charge. After the first full calibration cycle described above, internal resistance drops and the warmth during charging should reduce noticeably.
