Battery Care Tips
Battery Care Tips
🔹 Getting Started
Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.
🔹 Keep It Healthy
Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.
Delivery and Shipping
Delivery and Shipping
🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

SRF StarTrail 2 — 3.7V Li-ion 1200mAh Replacement Battery
This is a 3.7V Li-ion cell rated at 1200mAh (4.44Wh), sized as a direct physical fit for the SRF StarTrail 2 smartphone. It replaces a degraded or failed original cell that can no longer hold a usable charge. Dimensions are 49.50 × 44.20 × 4.50mm — confirm against your existing cell before fitting.
- StarTrail 2 cell compatibility: The StarTrail 2 uses a compact 3.7V single-cell configuration with a low-current BMS that matches this cell's charge termination voltage and protection thresholds. Swapping in a mismatched cell chemistry or higher voltage can trip the charge IC permanently.
- Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this cell through charge and discharge under screen-on and modem-active loads. The BMS held protection thresholds correctly and charge termination occurred at the expected 4.2V cutoff without anomalies.
- Fuel gauge recalibration on first use: On first use after installation, disable fast charging for one complete discharge-charge cycle. This lets the fuel gauge IC recalibrate against the new cell's discharge curve before high-current charging pushes current into an uncalibrated state.
Why the StarTrail 2 reports wrong battery percentage after a cell swap
The StarTrail 2 uses a coulomb-counting fuel gauge IC that builds its reference model from the original cell's discharge curve. When a new cell goes in, that stored model no longer matches actual cell behaviour. The IC will show inflated or deflated percentages until it completes at least one full charge-to-discharge cycle. Run the phone from 100% down to automatic shutdown, then charge uninterrupted to 100% — one complete cycle resets the reference model.
Sudden shutdown at 20–30% charge remaining on the replacement cell
This happens when the cell voltage drops sharply under load — typically during screen brightness peaks or mobile data bursts — faster than the fuel gauge IC predicted from its uncalibrated model. The phone's low-voltage protection trips before the displayed percentage reaches zero. It is not a faulty cell. Complete one full calibration cycle as described above, and the IC will map the new cell's actual voltage cliff and adjust shutdown timing to match real remaining capacity.

Frequently Asked Questions
The StarTrail 2 won't turn on at all after the replacement battery sat unused for a few months — is it dead?
Most likely the cell discharged below the BMS lockout threshold of around 2.5V during storage, and the protection circuit has cut output entirely. Connect the phone to a wall charger — not a PC USB port — and leave it for 20–30 minutes without attempting to power it on. The charge IC on the StarTrail 2 trickle-charges a locked-out cell at a low recovery current first; once the cell climbs above roughly 3.0V, the BMS re-enables output and the phone will boot normally.
Fast charging has stopped working on the StarTrail 2 since fitting the replacement battery — the phone only charges slowly now.
On the first charge cycle after a cell swap, the StarTrail 2's charge IC can fall back to standard 5V charging because it has not yet confirmed the new BMS handshake parameters. This is normal behaviour on the first cycle and not a fault with the replacement cell. Complete one full standard charge to 100%, then unplug and reconnect — the charge IC will renegotiate the fast-charge protocol on the second cycle once it has logged a complete charge profile for the new cell.
The battery percentage on the StarTrail 2 keeps jumping erratically — it shows 45%, then skips to 60%, then drops to 30% within minutes.
The fuel gauge IC is actively recalibrating against the new cell's discharge curve and its internal model is not yet stable. Erratic jumping typically settles after two full charge-discharge cycles as the coulomb counter accumulates enough data to correct its estimates. Do not top up or interrupt charging during these cycles. After the second complete cycle, if jumping continues beyond a 5% variance, check that the battery connector is fully seated — an intermittent contact causes the IC to lose count mid-cycle.
