Battery Care Tips
Battery Care Tips
🔹 Getting Started
Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.
🔹 Keep It Healthy
Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Stiga E600U / G600 / 600M2 — 25.2V Li-ion Replacement Battery (2R0101118/ST1)
This 25.2V 2500mAh (63Wh) Li-ion battery replaces the original pack on the Stiga E600U, G600, and 600M2 cordless lawn mowers. It fits the same battery slot and connector as the factory unit. Voltage and BMS communication match the mower's control board.
- E600U, G600, and 600M2 compatibility: These three mowers share the same 25.2V battery platform, connector pinout, and BMS handshake protocol. One battery covers all three — no adapter needed.
- Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this pack through simulated blade-motor load pulses and confirmed the BMS holds voltage without false cutoff under normal inrush demand. Cell balance across the pack stayed within 20mV after five full cycles.
- Seasonal storage tip: Before the first mow of spring, bring the battery indoors overnight if temperatures are below 10°C. Cold Li-ion cells have higher internal resistance, and the blade motor's inrush current can trip the BMS on a cold pack before the mower moves a metre.
BMS cutoff on thick-grass or wet-grass blade load
The E600U blade motor draws a sharp inrush current when it bites into dense or wet grass. If the BMS reads that spike as an overcurrent event, it cuts the output to protect the cells. A fresh or cold pack is more susceptible because internal resistance is higher. Let the mower pause for five seconds before restarting — this resets the BMS latch without needing to remove the battery.
Charger showing fault light after the mower sat in storage all winter
Li-ion cells self-discharge slowly in storage. After several months in a cold garage, the pack voltage can drop below the charger's acceptance threshold — typically around 20V for a 25.2V pack — triggering a fault or no-charge indication. Remove the battery, bring it indoors to room temperature for two hours, then reconnect it to the charger. Most chargers will begin a recovery charge once the cell temperature normalises and the pack voltage is above the acceptance floor.

Frequently Asked Questions
My Stiga E600U cuts out halfway through a row and then starts again a few minutes later — what's happening?
This is thermal protection activating, not a faulty battery. The blade motor generates sustained heat during a long mow, and the BMS cuts output when the cell temperature exceeds its threshold to prevent damage. Let the mower sit for five minutes before restarting — this allows the pack to cool enough for the BMS to reset. If it happens repeatedly, check that the blade isn't clogged with grass clippings, since restricted airflow accelerates heat build-up.
The charger accepted the battery fine in autumn, but now in spring it's flashing a fault light and won't charge — why?
The pack has likely self-discharged below the charger's minimum acceptance voltage over winter storage. This is common with Li-ion packs left unused for three months or more. Bring the battery indoors and leave it at room temperature for two to three hours, then plug it into the charger again. Once the cells warm up and the resting voltage climbs above approximately 20V, the charger should exit fault mode and begin charging normally.
This new battery feels noticeably warmer than my old one did after mowing — is something wrong?
Warmth during the first several cycles is normal. New Li-ion cells have slightly higher internal resistance before they are conditioned, which generates more heat under load. After five full charge-discharge cycles, internal resistance drops and the pack will run cooler. If the battery is too hot to hold comfortably after a normal mow beyond cycle five, check that the battery contacts on the mower are clean and making full contact — poor contact forces higher current through a smaller surface area and raises temperature.
