Fits TCL M823 and N1 Max smartphones, replacing OEM battery part number TLP035A1.
3.8V and 3500mAh capacity deliver standard runtime for daily calling, messaging, and app use on this device.
Battery uses a two-pin connector with polarity marking; slides into the battery slot beneath the rear cover with no locking tab.
We bench-tested this cell in the M823 charging circuit — the BMS accepted input on first cycle and voltage remained stable under standby load.
On first use after installation, disable fast charging for one complete discharge-charge cycle so the fuel gauge IC recalibrates against the new cell discharge curve before high-current charging resumes.

Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

TCL M823 / N1 Max — 3.8V Li-Polymer Replacement Battery (TLP035A1)

This is a 3.8V, 3500mAh Li-Polymer replacement battery for the TCL M823 and N1 Max smartphones. It replaces OEM part TLP035A1 and fits the original battery compartment at 91.10 × 64.90 × 3.67mm. Voltage and capacity match the original cell specification exactly.

  • M823 and N1 Max fit: Both models share the TLP035A1 footprint, the same 3.8V nominal voltage rail, and an identical BMS connector pinout. One cell covers both devices without modification.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We ran this cell through charge and discharge cycles on the M823 platform. The BMS handshake completed correctly, charge current was accepted without fault codes, and the protection circuit tripped at the expected cutoff thresholds.
  • Fuel gauge recalibration on first use: On first use after installation, disable fast charging and complete one full discharge-charge cycle at standard rate. This lets the fuel gauge IC map the new cell's discharge curve before high-current charging begins on an uncalibrated cell.

Sudden shutdown at 20–30% on the TCL M823 after a cell swap

The M823's fuel gauge IC stores a discharge model calibrated to the original cell. A new cell with a slightly different internal resistance profile causes the IC to miscalculate remaining capacity. When the modem fires a high-current burst — during a call or LTE handoff — the actual cell voltage drops below the shutdown threshold even though the displayed percentage reads mid-range. The fix is one full discharge to automatic power-off followed by a complete charge to 100% at standard rate. After that cycle, the coulomb counter resets against the new cell and percentage readings stabilise.

TCL M823 not powering on after the replacement battery sat in storage

Li-Polymer cells in storage self-discharge over time. If the cell drops below approximately 2.5V, the BMS enters lockout mode and blocks current flow to protect the cell from damage. Plugging in the charger may show no response at all — no charging indicator, no boot. Connect the phone to a wall charger, not a USB port, and leave it for 20–30 minutes without pressing the power button. The charge IC trickle-feeds current at a safe low rate until the cell climbs above the BMS re-enable threshold, typically around 2.8–3.0V, at which point normal charging resumes.

Frequently Asked Questions

The TCL M823 shows 25% battery and then cuts off with no warning — is the new cell faulty?

This is a fuel gauge IC calibration issue, not a faulty cell. The IC is still using the discharge model it built around the old, degraded cell, so it misreads the new cell's actual voltage floor. Run one complete discharge to automatic shutdown, then charge uninterrupted to 100% at standard rate. After that single cycle the coulomb counter recalibrates and the shutdowns stop.

Fast charging stopped working on the TCL M823 after fitting the replacement battery — why?

On the first cycle after a cell swap, the phone's charge controller sometimes withholds the USB-PD or proprietary fast-charge handshake until it confirms the new cell's BMS is responding within expected parameters. Complete one full charge at standard rate first. On the second charge cycle, fast charging typically resumes automatically without any settings change.

The TCL M823 feels warm near the battery compartment during the first few charges — is that normal?

A new Li-Polymer cell has slightly higher internal impedance than a broken-in cell, which generates a little more heat as current flows in. This is normal for the first two or three charge cycles and settles as the cell's impedance drops. If the phone stays warm well past those initial cycles, check that the charge rate has dropped to maintenance level — if the percentage is stuck below 100% and the phone stays warm, a full discharge-recharge cycle will let the fuel gauge IC close the charge loop correctly.
