Battery Care Tips
Battery Care Tips
🔹 Getting Started
Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.
🔹 Keep It Healthy
Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.
Delivery and Shipping
Delivery and Shipping
🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

TomTom Go 400 / Via 110 Europe — 3.7V Li-ion Replacement Battery (VF3H)
This is a 3.7V 700mAh Li-ion cell replacing part number VF3H in the TomTom Go 400 4.3", Go 400 Touch, and Via 110 Europe portable GPS navigators. It fits the internal battery slot directly and restores power to the touchscreen navigation unit. Capacity matches the original 2.59Wh specification from the factory.
- Go 400 and Via 110 platform fit: These three models share the same internal battery bay dimensions, connector orientation, and 3.7V power rail. The BMS handshake is consistent across the platform, so the same cell works across all three without modification.
- Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this cell through charge and discharge on a Go 400 unit. The BMS accepted the cell without fault flags, held voltage through the full GPS receiver and display load cycle, and cut off cleanly at the low-voltage threshold.
- Cold-start satellite acquisition after fitting: After fitting this cell and powering on, take the unit outdoors before first use. A full power interruption triggers a GPS cold start — first satellite fix takes up to 10 minutes. Subsequent warm starts drop back under a minute once almanac data is cached.
GPS accuracy dropping at low battery on the Go 400
When the Go 400 battery voltage sags below a threshold — typically around 3.5V under load — the unit reduces GPS receiver sensitivity to lower current draw. This shows up as position drift or the map pin jumping between streets, even in open-sky conditions. It is not a software glitch or antenna fault. Keeping the battery charged above 50% during active navigation keeps the receiver running at full sensitivity.
Go 400 shutting off without warning before the battery indicator hits empty
After a battery swap, the Go 400's fuel gauge is uncalibrated to the new cell. The device tracks remaining charge using voltage curves mapped to the original aged cell, so the cut-off voltage threshold gets triggered while the indicator still shows one or two bars. Run two full charge and discharge cycles on the new battery to let the firmware recalibrate the voltage-to-percentage mapping. After that, the warning indicator will align with the actual remaining charge.

Frequently Asked Questions
My TomTom Go 400 shut itself off mid-route with two battery bars still showing — is the new battery faulty?
It is not a faulty cell. After a battery swap, the Go 400's charge indicator is still calibrated to the old degraded cell's voltage curve, so the low-voltage cut-off trips while the bar display still reads partial charge. Run two complete charge and discharge cycles and the firmware will remap its voltage thresholds to the new cell. After that the indicator and the actual cut-off point will line up.
All my saved routes and POIs disappeared after replacing the battery — can I get them back?
Some saved route and POI data on the Go 400 is held in volatile memory that loses state when main power is fully removed. That data is gone once the old battery is disconnected. Going forward, sync your routes and favourites to MyDrive before any battery work — that backs them to TomTom's servers and lets you restore them after a swap.
Satellite lock on my Go 400 is taking much longer than it used to after fitting the new battery — is something wrong?
Nothing is wrong. Removing the battery clears the GPS receiver's cached almanac and ephemeris data, forcing a cold start on the next power-on. A cold start takes up to 10 minutes to acquire a fix from scratch versus under a minute for a warm start. Take the unit outdoors to open sky immediately after first power-on, leave it stationary, and let it complete the fix — subsequent lock times return to normal once the almanac is rebuilt.
