Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Mio Moov M410 — 3.7V Li-ion Replacement Battery

This 3.7V, 1050mAh Li-ion cell replaces the internal battery in the Mio Moov M410 portable GPS navigator. It fits the M410 directly and restores power to units that can no longer hold a usable charge. Voltage and capacity match the original specification: 3.7V, 1050mAh (3.89Wh).

  • Moov M410 fitment: The M410 uses a compact slim-profile cell — 50 x 35 x 5mm — with a low-current draw profile suited to GPS receiver and display operation. This cell matches that footprint and the voltage rail the onboard navigation processor expects.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this cell through charge and discharge on a GPS-class load. The BMS responded correctly at both high-state and low-state thresholds, with no spurious cutoff during simulated navigation draw.
  • First fix after battery swap: After fitting this cell, power the unit on outdoors and let it acquire a satellite fix before driving. The M410 performs a cold start after any full power interruption — first fix can take 5–10 minutes. Subsequent warm starts are under a minute.

GPS accuracy reduced at the bottom of the charge curve

Some GPS navigators, including Mio units, reduce receiver sensitivity when voltage drops toward the low cutoff threshold. The M410's GPS chipset pulls less current in this state to protect the cell, but signal acquisition suffers as a result. You may notice position drift or slower route recalculation when the battery indicator shows one bar. Charge the unit before longer trips rather than relying on the remaining bar — the display indicator is not a precise voltage readout.

M410 shutting off without low-battery warning

This happens when the battery's actual discharge curve no longer matches the thresholds the device was calibrated against — common in aged cells. After fitting a new cell, the fuel gauge logic needs a full charge-to-discharge cycle to recalibrate. Charge the unit to 100% uninterrupted, then use it until it shuts off naturally. After that first full cycle, the low-battery warning should reappear at the correct point before shutdown.

Frequently Asked Questions

My Mio Moov M410 took nearly 10 minutes to find satellites after I put in the new battery — is something wrong with it?

Nothing is wrong. Removing the battery clears the almanac and ephemeris data the GPS chipset holds in volatile memory, forcing a cold start. A cold start on the M410 typically takes 5–10 minutes to acquire enough satellites for a fix. Take the unit outside with a clear view of the sky, leave it stationary, and let it complete the first fix — every subsequent start will lock on in under a minute.

I swapped the battery and now my saved routes and some points of interest are gone — can I get them back?

Some navigation data on the Moov M410 is held in battery-backed RAM, which loses its contents the moment power is fully removed. Once that data is gone, it cannot be recovered from the battery swap itself. Saved favourites stored to internal flash should survive, but trip history and unsaved routes will not. Going forward, export any routes you want to keep to the SD card before disconnecting the battery.

The M410 drains noticeably faster when I'm actively navigating compared to when it's just sitting on the dash — is the new battery faulty?

The battery is not faulty — this is expected behaviour. Active navigation runs the GPS receiver, map rendering, and the backlit display simultaneously, which draws significantly more current than standby. The combined load can be three to four times higher than idle. To extend charge between trips, reduce screen brightness to around 50% in the display settings — the GPS receiver draw is fixed, but display brightness has the biggest impact on overall current draw.
