Fits Garmin Edge 510 cycling GPS; replaces OEM part 361-00050-10 and 361-00050-03.
3.7V 800mAh Li-ion delivers enough charge for typical ride logging and route navigation on the Edge 510.
Connector slides straight into the battery slot with a flat locking tab; verify full seating before closing the door.
We bench-tested this cell in an Edge 510 and confirmed the BMS accepted the charge cycle without voltage cutoff faults.
After installing this battery, power the GPS on outdoors and allow five to ten minutes for the initial satellite fix — cold starts take longer than warm starts after a power interruption.

Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Garmin Edge 510 — 3.7V Li-ion Replacement Battery (361-00050-10)

This is a 3.7V 800mAh Li-ion cell for the Garmin Edge 510 cycling GPS computer. It replaces OEM part numbers 361-00050-10 and 361-00050-03. Fit this battery when the original cell no longer holds charge or causes unexpected shutdowns during rides.

  • Edge 510 platform fit: The Edge 510 uses a compact Li-ion cell with a specific connector and physical footprint — 42.30 x 36.30 x 5.50mm. Both OEM part numbers 361-00050-10 and 361-00050-03 map to this same cell configuration, covering units across production runs.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We ran this cell through charge and discharge cycles on the Edge 510 platform. The BMS accepted full charge without fault flags, and the voltage held steady across a standard GPS navigation load.
  • Cold-start satellite acquisition after fitting: After fitting this cell, power the Edge 510 on outdoors and let it acquire a satellite fix before your first ride. GPS performs a full cold start after power interruption — first fix typically takes 5–10 minutes. Subsequent warm starts are much faster.

GPS accuracy dropping as battery level falls on the Edge 510

The Edge 510 GPS receiver draws more power when signal conditions are poor — dense tree cover, urban canyons, or heavy cloud. At low battery, the device may reduce receiver sensitivity to protect the remaining charge. This shows up as position drift or a weaker satellite signal count in the status screen. Keeping the cell above 3.5V under load gives the receiver enough headroom to maintain full sensitivity.

Edge 510 shutting off without a low-battery warning

This happens when the battery indicator is no longer calibrated to the cell's actual discharge curve. The on-screen percentage appears healthy, then the device cuts off abruptly — because the voltage-threshold trigger fires before the visual warning catches up. A fresh cell solves this immediately, but you need to recalibrate the gauge: run a full charge to 100%, then ride until the device shuts off naturally. That single cycle resets the threshold mapping to the new cell's curve.

Frequently Asked Questions

My Edge 510 lost all my saved routes after I replaced the battery — is that normal?

Yes. The Edge 510 stores saved courses and some settings in memory that loses state during a full power interruption. When the battery is removed, that memory clears. Before swapping the battery, export your courses to Garmin Connect or a GPX file via USB — that protects them regardless of what happens to the cell.

Edge 510 taking way longer to find satellites after fitting the new battery — what's going on?

That's a cold start. With the battery removed, the device loses the ephemeris data it uses to predict satellite positions quickly. Without that data, the GPS receiver has to download a fresh almanac from scratch, which takes 5–10 minutes outdoors with a clear sky view. Subsequent power-ons will lock in under a minute once the device has rebuilt its satellite cache.

Active navigation is draining this battery noticeably faster than standby — why?

During active navigation, the Edge 510 runs the GPS receiver continuously at full power and keeps the display on. Standby draws a fraction of that current. The biggest single drain is screen brightness — dropping it two steps in Settings > Display reduces display load significantly and extends usable ride time on the same charge.
