Fits TomTom Go 750, Go 750 Live, and Go 740 Live GPS navigators; replaces OEM part VF1A and AHL03711012.
This 3.7V, 1100mAh lithium-ion cell delivers the same capacity as the factory battery for full navigation sessions.
Connector slides straight into the battery compartment with a single locking tab; no adapter needed.
We bench-tested the cell in a Go 750 unit; BMS accepted the pack on first insertion with normal charge curve.
After fitting this cell, power the GPS fully on outdoors and allow it to acquire a satellite fix before navigation — GPS performs a cold start after power interruption that takes 5–10 minutes for first fix.

Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

TomTom Go 750 Series — 3.7V Li-ion Replacement Battery (VF1A)

This is a 3.7V, 1100mAh Li-ion cell replacing part number VF1A in the TomTom Go 750, Go 750 Live, Go 740 Live, and 4CP0.002.06. It fits the portable sat-nav's original battery bay without modification. Capacity is 1100mAh — matching the factory specification.

  • Go 750 and 740 Live compatibility: These models share the same 3.7V battery bay, connector pinout, and charge-management circuit. The Go 750 Live variant uses identical hardware — there is no separate cell for the Live-enabled unit.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this cell through full charge and discharge on a Go 750 unit. The onboard charge controller accepted the cell immediately, BMS communication was clean, and the device reached a full charge state without fault flags.
  • Cold-start satellite acquisition after swap: After fitting this cell, power the GPS fully on outdoors before driving. The device performs a cold start after any complete power interruption — first satellite fix takes 5–10 minutes. Subsequent warm starts lock in under a minute. Do not judge the battery or receiver by first-fix performance immediately post-swap.

GPS accuracy reduced at low battery on the Go 750

As the Go 750's cell voltage drops toward the lower threshold, the device reduces power to the GPS receiver module to extend operation. This cuts receiver sensitivity — the unit may drop to fewer satellites or show position drift that wasn't present at full charge. If navigation accuracy degrades noticeably mid-route, check the battery indicator first. A fresh cell running at 3.7V nominal restores full receiver power and position accuracy.

Go 750 shutting off without warning before the indicator shows empty

The Go 750 calibrates its battery gauge against the original cell's discharge curve. A new cell may trigger the BMS low-voltage cutoff before the onscreen indicator visually reaches empty — the gauge is reading incorrectly, not the battery. Run two or three full charge-to-cutoff cycles and the gauge recalibrates to the new cell's actual curve. After recalibration, the low-battery warning appears at the correct threshold near 3.4V.

Frequently Asked Questions

My TomTom Go 750 lost all my saved routes after I replaced the battery — is that normal?

Yes. The Go 750 stores some route and POI data in RAM that relies on continuous battery power to retain. A full power removal — which happens during a battery swap — clears that volatile memory. Saved favourites stored in flash are typically unaffected, but active routes and recent destinations held in RAM will be gone. Re-enter any critical routes after the swap and save them explicitly to the device's internal storage.

Satellite lock is taking 5–10 minutes on my Go 750 after the battery replacement — something wrong?

Nothing is wrong. The Go 750 performs a cold start after any complete power interruption, which means it has lost its cached satellite almanac data. It has to download fresh orbital data from scratch, which takes 5–10 minutes outdoors with a clear sky view. Once that first fix completes, subsequent warm starts lock in well under a minute. Park outside, let it acquire, and the timing returns to normal from that point forward.

My Go 750 is draining much faster during active navigation than it used to — what's causing that?

Active navigation is the highest-drain state for the Go 750 — the GPS receiver runs continuously, the touchscreen stays lit, and the processor is calculating routes in real time. A degraded original cell struggles to sustain that combined load even if it appears fine on standby. Reduce screen brightness to the lowest usable setting — display backlight is the single largest draw on this device class. If drain is still excessive with a new cell at reduced brightness, check that background sync is disabled on the Go 750 Live variant, as it adds a second active radio load.
