Battery Care Tips
Battery Care Tips
🔹 Getting Started
Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.
🔹 Keep It Healthy
Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping
🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

TP-Link Neffos C5A / TP703A — 3.8V Li-ion Replacement Battery (NBL-43A2300)
This is a 3.8V, 2200mAh (8.36Wh) Li-ion cell replacing OEM part NBL-43A2300. It fits the Neffos C5A, Neffos C5A Dual SIM, and TP703A. If your C5A shuts down unexpectedly, won't hold a charge, or no longer boots, this cell restores normal operation.
- C5A and TP703A platform fit: The C5A and TP703A share the same battery bay dimensions, connector pin-out, and BMS handshake protocol. One cell covers both variants without modification.
- Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this cell through charge and discharge on a C5A unit. The BMS accepted charge input on first connection, voltage held steady at 3.8V nominal, and the protection circuit tripped correctly at the low-voltage cutoff threshold.
- Fuel gauge recalibration on first cycle: On first use after installation, disable fast charging for one complete discharge-to-charge cycle. The fuel gauge IC on the C5A is calibrated to the old cell's discharge curve. Running one full cycle at standard current lets the coulomb counter re-anchor to the new cell before higher charge rates are applied.
Sudden shutdown at 20–30% on the Neffos C5A after a cell swap
This is a voltage cliff issue, not a capacity problem. When the modem transmits or the screen brightness peaks, current draw spikes and the new cell's voltage drops sharply before the fuel gauge expects it. The phone's low-voltage protection then cuts power even though the displayed percentage still reads above zero. One full discharge-charge cycle without fast charging lets the fuel gauge IC remap the actual voltage curve of the new cell, and the early shutdowns stop.
Phone warm near the battery during the first few charges after replacement
A new cell starts with higher internal impedance than a broken-in one. The charge IC pushes current into that resistance, and some of the energy converts to heat rather than stored capacity. This is normal for the first two to three cycles and settles as impedance drops. If the phone stays warm beyond the fifth full charge, check that fast charging is actually disabled — running the standard 5V/1A input is the right call until the cell is broken in.

Frequently Asked Questions
My Neffos C5A shows 25% battery and then just switches off — is the new cell faulty?
The cell is almost certainly fine. This is a voltage cliff: under the load of the modem or display, the new cell's voltage drops faster than the fuel gauge IC expects, triggering a low-voltage shutdown before the displayed percentage reaches zero. The fuel gauge is still calibrated to the old cell's discharge curve. Run one full discharge down to auto-off, then charge to 100% at standard speed (no fast charge), and the shutdowns should stop after that first calibration cycle.
The battery percentage jumps around after I fitted the NBL-43A2300 — it reads 60%, then suddenly 45%, then back up to 55%.
The coulomb counter inside the C5A's fuel gauge IC is recalibrating against the new cell. It was tracking the old cell's known degradation curve, and the new cell's behaviour doesn't match that model yet. The erratic readings typically settle within two to three full discharge-charge cycles. Don't top up constantly during this period — let the phone run down past 10% and charge fully each time so the IC can build an accurate picture of the new cell.
Fast charging stopped working after I replaced the battery on my Neffos C5A — the phone only charges slowly now.
On the first cycle after a cell swap, the charge IC on the C5A often defaults to a conservative trickle or standard rate because it hasn't yet confirmed the new BMS parameters. This is a protection behaviour, not a hardware fault. Complete one full charge at the slow rate, disconnect, then reconnect the charger — fast charge should be accepted from the second session onward. If it still doesn't engage, confirm the charger output meets the 5V/2A threshold the C5A requires for elevated charge rates.
