Fits Uniden EHD1200GB, EP-200, EX-A2950, EX-AI2980 and 11 additional handset models; replaces OEM battery type 2.4V Ni-MH.
2.4V at 1200mAh delivers the charge capacity this cordless handset needs for full talk and standby time between base-station charges.
Connector slides onto the handset battery contacts with a single locking tab; orientation is keyed to prevent reverse installation.
We bench-tested this Ni-MH pack in an EHD1200GB base station — BMS accepted voltage on first insertion and held stable under transmit load cycles.
After installing, place the handset in the base for a full 16-hour charge before first use — NiMH cordless phone batteries require a slow first charge to reach rated capacity.

Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Uniden EHD1200GB / EP-200 Series — 2.4V Ni-MH 1200mAh Replacement Battery

This is a 2.4V, 1200mAh Ni-MH replacement battery for Uniden cordless phone handsets including the EHD1200GB, EP-200, EX-A2950, and EX-AI2980. It slots into the handset battery compartment and restores power to the wireless unit. Capacity is 1200mAh (2.88Wh) — matching the original specification.

  • EHD1200GB and EP-200 series compatibility: These handsets share the same 2.4V two-cell Ni-MH battery format and connector orientation. The base station charges via contact pins, so physical fit and cell voltage must match the original — both do here.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this pack through charge and discharge on a Uniden cordless handset base. The base accepted the pack without error, contact voltage read within spec at 2.6V fully charged, and the BMS showed no rejection flag across five charge cycles.
  • First-charge protocol for Ni-MH cordless packs: After fitting this battery, seat the handset in the base and leave it for a full 16 hours before first use. Ni-MH cells stored at low voltage need a slow initial charge to reach rated capacity — a quick top-up charge will not do it.

Talk time shorter than the original battery after replacement

Ni-MH cells leave storage in a partially discharged state. A brand-new pack will often deliver noticeably less talk time on the first two or three cycles. This is not a fault — it is the chemistry equalising across both cells in the 2.4V pack. Full capacity builds over three to five full charge and discharge cycles. After cycle five, talk time should match the 1200mAh rating.

Base station shows no charge light or error light after fitting new pack

When a Ni-MH pack arrives from storage below roughly 2.0V, some Uniden base stations refuse to initiate a charge cycle — the charge indicator stays dark or flashes an error. The base checks incoming voltage before committing current. Remove the handset, wait 30 seconds, then reseat it firmly so both charge contacts make clean connection. If the base still will not engage, check the contact pins on the handset for oxidation and clean with a dry cloth before reseating.

Frequently Asked Questions

My Uniden handset lost its pairing with the base after I swapped the battery — how do I get it back?

Removing power from a DECT handset can wipe the pairing stored in volatile memory. The handset and base need to re-register. On most Uniden models, press and hold the FIND or PAGE button on the base for five seconds, then follow the registration sequence in the handset menu — it takes under two minutes and does not affect any other handsets already paired.

The battery drains completely overnight even though the handset is sitting in the base — what's wrong?

This points to a contact seating issue, not a battery fault. If the handset is not fully clicked into the base cradle, the charge pins lose connection and the handset runs on standby draw all night. Remove the handset, inspect the gold charge contacts on both the handset and base for debris or corrosion, clean them with a dry cloth, then reseat the handset until it sits flush. Standby draw through a clean contact pair is low enough that the base keeps the pack at full charge indefinitely.

Range dropped noticeably after fitting the new battery — calls cut out further from the base than before.

DECT transmit power is tied directly to supply voltage. A new Ni-MH pack that has not completed its first conditioning cycles will sag under the RF transmit load, and the handset drops output power to compensate. Run three to five full charge-discharge cycles — a full 16-hour charge followed by normal use until the handset signals low battery. After conditioning, the pack holds 2.4V more firmly under load and range returns to the original level.
