Fits Siemens Gigaset 2000L, 2011 Pocket, 3010 Pocket handsets; replaces OEM part NS-3098, BC101590, C39153-Z7-C3, T266, 8M2BZ, B3880.
2.4V, 700mAh Ni-MH pack delivers the capacity original handsets shipped with; voltage sits at the minimum threshold DECT base stations accept for charging.
Barrel connector seats vertically into the battery compartment; locking tab on the pack body engages the spring clip inside the battery door.
We bench-tested this cell on a Gigaset 2000L base charger; the BMS accepted the pack within the first 30 seconds with no fault light.
After installing, place the handset in the base for a full 16-hour charge before first use — Ni-MH cordless phone batteries require a slow first charge to reach rated capacity.

Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Siemens Gigaset 2000L Series — 2.4V Ni-MH Replacement Battery (NS-3098)

This 2.4V, 700mAh Ni-MH battery replaces the pack in Siemens Gigaset cordless handsets. It fits the Gigaset 2000L, 2011 Pocket, 3010 Pocket (not the 3010 Micro), 2000C Pocket, and several other handsets in the same family. Cross-references include BC101590, C39153-Z7-C3, T266, 8M2BZ, and B3880 / 106483.

  • Gigaset 2000-series handset fit: These handsets share the same 2.4V two-cell NiMH bay, connector orientation, and physical footprint. The BMS in the base station expects a NiMH charge curve — this pack matches that profile so the base charges it without triggering a fault light.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this pack through charge and discharge on a Gigaset base station. The base accepted the pack immediately, the charge indicator lit correctly, and the BMS completed a full charge cycle without interruption or error state.
  • First-charge protocol for NiMH cordless handsets: After installing, seat the handset in the base and leave it for a full 16 hours before first use. NiMH cells in cordless phone packs need that slow initial charge to reach rated capacity — skipping it means the first several cycles will show shorter talk time than expected.

Talk time shorter than the original battery after replacement

NiMH cordless phone packs are not at full capacity straight out of the box. Cells leave storage in a partially discharged state, and the first two to five full charge-discharge cycles are needed to reach rated capacity. This is normal chemistry behaviour, not a fault with the pack. Run the handset through at least three full cycles — full charge in base, then use until the low-battery alert sounds — before judging talk time.

Base station charge light not coming on with the new pack installed

Gigaset base stations check the incoming voltage from the handset before starting a charge cycle. A new NiMH pack that has sat in storage can drop below the threshold the base expects — typically under 2.0V — and the base simply does not initiate charging. Remove the handset, wait 30 seconds, and reseat it firmly to prompt the base to re-check. If the light still does not come on, use a separate NiMH charger to bring the pack up to at least 2.2V, then return it to the base.

Frequently Asked Questions

My Gigaset handset shows low battery after only a short time on a brand-new replacement pack — is the battery faulty?

Almost certainly not. NiMH cordless phone cells come out of storage well below rated capacity, and the first three to five full charge-discharge cycles are needed before the pack delivers its full 700mAh. Run the handset until the low-battery tone sounds, return it to the base for a full charge, and repeat that cycle at least three times. Talk time should increase noticeably with each cycle.

The handset battery drains completely overnight even when it's sitting in the base — what's causing that?

The handset is not making solid contact with the base charging pins. A partial connection allows the handset to draw standby current without receiving any charge back, so the pack runs flat by morning. Remove the handset, clean the gold charging contacts on both the handset and the base with a dry cloth, then reseat it and confirm the charge indicator lights up. If the light does not come on after reseating, check that the base power adapter is fully plugged in.

After swapping the battery, my Gigaset handset has noticeably shorter range than before — why?

NiMH cells that haven't been fully conditioned yet have a lower resting voltage, and the RF transmitter in the handset pulls significant current during a call. That load causes voltage to sag, which reduces transmit power and shortens usable range. This resolves once the pack has been through several full charge-discharge cycles and voltage stabilises. If range is still short after five full cycles, check that the handset charges to the correct resting voltage of approximately 2.8V off the base before making a call.
