Fits Unitech HT660, PA600, PA950, and PA966 handheld scanners; replaces OEM battery for extended inventory capture sessions.
3.7V lithium-ion cell at 1800mAh delivers sustained power for barcode reads and wireless transmission without mid-shift dropouts.
Connector slides into scanner battery slot with positive terminal forward; locking tab seats flush against the device frame.
We bench-tested the pack under rapid scan-trigger cycles and radio polling; BMS remained stable with no early cutoff.
After installing, place the scanner in its cradle for a full charge cycle before using in pick-and-pack — the scan trigger inrush current is highest when the cell is near minimum and a pre-charged cell prevents false BMS trips on the first shift.

Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Unitech HT660 / PA600 / PA950 Series — 3.7V Li-ion Replacement Battery

This is a 3.7V, 1800mAh Li-ion replacement battery for the Unitech HT660, PA600, PA950, and PA966 handheld barcode scanners. These mobile data terminals are used in retail, warehouse, and logistics operations where continuous scan availability matters. It measures 57.23 × 37.00 × 12.68mm and fits the original battery compartment without modification.

  • HT660 / PA600 / PA950 / PA966 platform fit: These models share the same 3.7V battery bay, connector pinout, and BMS handshake logic, which is why a single replacement pack covers the full group. Voltage tolerance across this series sits within a narrow window — a cell outside spec will trip the protection circuit before the shift starts.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We ran this pack through charge and discharge cycles on the HT660 platform. The BMS accepted the cell, held the 3.7V nominal rail through simulated scan-and-transmit bursts, and the protection circuit responded correctly at low-voltage cutoff.
  • First-shift preparation on the HT660: After installing this pack, place the scanner in its cradle for a full charge cycle before using it in pick-and-pack. The scan trigger inrush current is highest when the cell is near minimum, and a pre-charged cell prevents false BMS trips on the first shift.

Cradle showing charging error on a new pack

Charging errors on a new pack are almost always a contact resistance issue, not a cell fault. The HT660 cradle reads pack state through gold-plated dock contacts — if those contacts have oxidation or debris, the dock may flag the pack as unresponsive. Wipe the battery contact strip and the cradle contacts with a dry cloth, then reseat the scanner firmly. If the error clears, the cell was fine — the dock connection was the problem.

Scanner losing wireless connection during rapid scan bursts

The HT660 pulls current simultaneously from the scan trigger and the wireless radio during a fast-burst scanning session. If the cell voltage sags under that combined draw, the radio subsystem drops its connection before the scanner throws a low-battery warning. A fresh, fully charged pack reduces that voltage sag significantly. If drop-outs persist on a charged pack, check wireless polling frequency in the device settings — tighter polling intervals compound the draw.

Frequently Asked Questions

My HT660 won't read barcodes after I swapped the battery — laser powers on but scans fail

A low cell at installation is the most common cause. The scanner's imager or laser needs a stable voltage rail to decode — if the new pack shipped partially discharged, the read engine may be operating below minimum power threshold even though the trigger fires. Put the scanner in the cradle for a full charge cycle before scanning. If reads still fail after a full charge, check the scan window for smudges — a degraded read is often misread as a battery issue.

My HT660 runs noticeably shorter shifts than it used to — even with a new battery

Scan burst frequency and wireless polling both draw from the same cell simultaneously, and warehouse environments with dense Wi-Fi traffic force the radio to retransmit more often. That combined draw is higher than a single scan-only workload, so shift endurance drops without any fault in the battery itself. Check whether wireless signal strength in your facility has changed — poor signal forces more retransmits and drains the pack faster. Reducing scan-burst speed during low-signal periods measurably extends per-shift capacity.

The HT660 gets warm during extended scanning shifts — is the battery causing it?

Sustained scan-plus-wireless draw in the enclosed housing generates heat from both the radio module and the cell itself — this is normal under high-frequency use. The concern is whether heat is coming specifically from the battery compartment, which can indicate the cell is working harder than it should due to high internal resistance. Check that the battery contacts are clean and fully seated, as poor contact forces higher current through a smaller surface area and increases heat. If the compartment stays cool but the housing is warm, the source is the radio or processor, not the cell.
