Battery Care Tips
Battery Care Tips
🔹 Getting Started
Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.
🔹 Keep It Healthy
Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.
Delivery and Shipping
Delivery and Shipping
🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Casio DT-X10 / DT-X5 Series — 3.7V Li-ion Replacement Battery (DT-5023BAT / DT-5024LBAT)
This 3.7V Li-ion battery carries 1800mAh (6.66Wh) and fits the Casio DT-X10 and DT-X5 family of handheld barcode scanners. These units run in retail, warehouse, and logistics environments where scan volume and wireless polling keep the cell under sustained load. The pack replaces OEM part numbers DT-5023BAT, DT-5024LBAT, DT-5025LBAT, and CA50601-1000, among others.
- DT-X10 and DT-X5 platform fit: Both scanner lines share the same battery bay geometry, cell voltage rail, and BMS handshake protocol — a single pack covers DT-X5M10E and DT-X5M10R variants without any wiring or connector modification.
- Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this pack through rapid scan bursts combined with active 802.11 wireless polling. The BMS held stable across the combined inrush load and did not trip the protection circuit at low state of charge.
- First-shift preparation for pick-and-pack: After installing, seat the scanner in its cradle and run a full charge cycle before using it on the floor. Scan trigger inrush current is highest when the cell is near minimum, and a fully charged pack prevents false BMS trips during the first shift's heaviest burst period.
Cradle showing a charging error on a new pack
Casio DT-series docks use contact pins that oxidise with repeated insertions, and a new pack with high contact resistance can trigger a charging fault even though both the dock and battery are functioning. The dock's charge controller reads a voltage drop across the dirty contact and interprets it as a pack fault. Wipe the gold contacts on both the battery and the dock recess with a dry lint-free cloth, then reseat firmly. The charging indicator should clear within 30 seconds of a clean connection.
Scanner losing wireless connection during a rapid scan burst
On the DT-X10, the 802.11 radio and the scan trigger draw current simultaneously during a rapid burst — the combined inrush can pull the cell voltage below the BMS's minimum threshold momentarily, causing the radio stack to drop its association. This happens most often when the battery is below 20% state of charge and scan frequency is high. The BMS recovers automatically, but the wireless reconnect adds latency that operators notice as missed scans or delayed confirmations. Keeping the pack above 30% during peak shift activity prevents the voltage sag that triggers the drop.

Frequently Asked Questions
My DT-X10 stopped reading barcodes right after I swapped the battery — the laser fires but nothing registers. What's wrong?
The DT-X10's imager and laser circuit require the cell to be above a minimum voltage before the decode engine initialises correctly — if the replacement pack shipped partially discharged, the scanner powers on but the imager lacks enough voltage headroom to complete a valid decode. Place the unit in its cradle and charge to 100% before scanning. Once fully charged, the decode engine re-initialises on the next power cycle and reads normally.
The new battery feels noticeably warm after a full shift of scanning — is that a fault?
Sustained scanning plus continuous 802.11 wireless polling in the DT-X10's enclosed housing generates real thermal load on the cell. Warmth to the touch at end of shift is normal under that combined draw. If the housing becomes too hot to hold comfortably, check that the scanner's wireless polling interval is not set to maximum — reducing the beacon interval in the device settings lowers idle radio draw and keeps operating temperature within range.
This replacement battery seems to run out faster than our old original packs did — what degrades shift endurance?
Shift endurance on the DT-X10 drops when scan burst frequency and wireless polling intervals both run high simultaneously, because each scan trigger plus radio transmission stacks current draw against the 1800mAh cell. If the previous pack was a higher-capacity variant (DT-5025LBAT), check which OEM part number it carried — some DT-X5 series packs ship in different capacity grades. Confirm your replacement matches the 1800mAh (6.66Wh) spec, and ensure the cradle completes a full charge cycle before each shift by verifying the charge LED goes solid before removing the scanner.
