Battery Care Tips
Battery Care Tips
🔹 Getting Started
Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.
🔹 Keep It Healthy
Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.
Delivery and Shipping
Delivery and Shipping
🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Urovo DT610 / DT610 RFID Mobile Computer — 3.87V Li-Polymer Replacement Battery (HB40DT610)
This is a 3.87V, 4000mAh Li-Polymer battery for the Urovo DT610 and DT610 RFID Mobile Computer. It replaces OEM part number HB40DT610 and fits directly in both the standard DT610 and the RFID variant. Dimensions are 81.50 x 63.70 x 9.00mm — verify fit before ordering if your unit has been modified.
- DT610 and DT610 RFID compatibility: Both the standard and RFID variants run the same 3.87V power rail and use the same battery bay geometry. The HB40DT610 part number covers both. The RFID module draws additional current during tag reads, which is within the BMS discharge envelope on this cell.
- Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this pack through combined scan-trigger and wireless polling loads. The BMS held stable voltage under rapid burst scanning and showed clean cutoff at the low-voltage threshold — no false trips during high-frequency read sequences.
- First-shift inrush protection: After installing a new pack, seat the scanner in its cradle and run a full charge cycle before starting pick-and-pack. Scan-trigger inrush current peaks hardest when the cell is near minimum, and a fully charged cell prevents the BMS from tripping on the first shift's opening burst.
Cradle showing a charging error on a new HB40DT610 pack
Charging docks on the DT610 use contact-based communication alongside power delivery. If the dock contacts or the battery terminals have residue or oxidation, the dock reads a handshake fault and flags a charging error rather than a dead battery. This is not a defective cell — it is a contact resistance issue. Wipe the gold contacts on the battery and the dock with a dry cloth, reseat the pack firmly, and the charge indicator should switch to active within 30 seconds.
Scanner losing wireless connection during rapid scan bursts
The DT610 runs its wireless radio and scan imager from the same cell simultaneously. During a rapid-fire scan sequence, the combined inrush from the imager trigger and the radio transmit cycle creates a short voltage sag at the pack terminals. If the cell is already partially depleted, that sag can dip below the radio module's minimum operating voltage, causing a momentary disconnect. Keeping the pack above 3.6V at the terminal during heavy shifts prevents this — charge before the pack drops into the lower third of its capacity range.

Frequently Asked Questions
My DT610 won't read barcodes after I swapped the battery — imager powers up but scans fail every time
The imager needs stable voltage above a minimum threshold to fire the decode cycle correctly. A new pack that has not been fully charged can sag under scan-trigger inrush just enough to cause decode failures even though the screen stays on. Place the scanner in its cradle and complete a full charge before use — bring the cell to 4.2V and the imager draw will stabilise on first trigger.
The dock contact pins look fine but the DT610 is running warm after a long shift — is that normal?
Sustained heat in the DT610 during extended shifts comes from the combined draw of the scan imager, the wireless radio, and — on the RFID variant — the UHF module running in parallel. The housing concentrates that heat because ventilation is limited in a sealed rugged unit. This is normal under heavy multi-function use. If the unit becomes hot enough to trigger a thermal warning, reduce scan burst frequency or allow a 10-minute rest with the screen off to let the BMS thermal sensor reset.
The new battery shows full charge but the DT610 drains noticeably faster than the old one did when it was new
Scan burst frequency and wireless polling interval both affect how quickly the cell depletes — these settings often drift over time as firmware updates change defaults or users adjust scan sensitivity. Check the scanner's scan trigger timeout and wireless beacon interval in the device settings before assuming the cell is underperforming. If the drain rate remains abnormal after confirming those settings, cycle the pack twice from full charge to BMS cutoff and back to full — a new Li-Polymer cell reaches stable capacity after two or three full cycles.
