Fits Hoft & Wessel HW19200 barcode scanner; replaces OEM part number FBHWX26580.
3.7V 3600mAh lithium-ion cell delivers sustained power for handheld scanning in warehouse and retail operations.
Connector type matches original pack; slides into scanner housing with positive terminal forward and locking tab secured.
We bench-tested discharge under continuous scan-and-transmit cycles; BMS held voltage stable through rapid trigger inrush events.
After installing this cell, place the scanner in its cradle for a full charge before shift work — scan trigger current draw peaks when pack voltage is lowest, and a pre-charged cell prevents false BMS shutoff on first use.

Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Hoft & Wessel HW19200 / T26582 Series — 3.7V Li-ion Replacement Battery (FBHWX26580)

This 3.7V 3600mAh Li-ion pack replaces the OEM battery in the Hoft & Wessel HW19200, T26582, HW90250, HW90260, and compatible models. These scanners run in retail, warehouse, and inventory environments where the battery takes a constant hit from scan triggers, wireless polling, and display backlight. When the original cell degrades, scan reliability drops before the pack fully dies — this replacement restores full operating voltage to the scanner's power rail.

  • HW19200 / T26582 platform fit: These models share the same 3.7V single-cell architecture, battery connector pinout, and BMS handshake protocol — which is why one pack covers the full range. Swapping between them needs no modification.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this pack through scan-trigger inrush and simultaneous wireless polling loads. The BMS held cutoff thresholds correctly and did not trip false low-voltage faults during combined draw events.
  • First-shift prep for pick-and-pack: After installing this pack, seat the scanner in its cradle and run a full charge cycle before the shift starts. Scan trigger inrush is highest when the cell is near minimum voltage, and a pre-charged cell prevents false BMS trips on the first pick run of the day.

Cradle showing a charging error on a new pack

Charging docks on the HW19200 series read contact resistance before opening the charge circuit. If the gold contacts on the battery or cradle have oxidation or residue from handling, the dock sees an open circuit and flags a charge fault. This is not a faulty pack — it is a contact issue. Wipe the battery contacts and the cradle contacts with a dry cloth, reseat the scanner firmly, and the charging indicator should clear within 30 seconds.

Scanner losing wireless connection during rapid scan bursts

During a fast scan sequence, the imager trigger and the wireless radio fire almost simultaneously, creating a combined inrush spike on the battery's output. A degraded or low-charge cell sags in voltage under that combined load, which causes the wireless module to drop its connection before the BMS cuts off. The scanner reconnects once load drops, which looks like an intermittent radio fault but is actually a voltage sag event. Keeping the pack above 3.5V at the start of a scan burst prevents the sag from crossing the radio module's minimum supply threshold.

Frequently Asked Questions

The HW19200 won't read barcodes right after I put the new battery in — is the scanner broken?

The imager or laser in the HW19200 needs the cell above a minimum voltage before it will fire at full power. A new pack ships in a partial state of charge, and if it is too low, the scanner appears to trigger but the imager output is below the threshold needed to decode a barcode. Place the scanner in its cradle and charge it fully before the first scan attempt — once the cell reaches 4.2V the imager will operate normally.

The scanner gets noticeably warm after a few hours on shift — is that a problem with this battery?

Sustained warmth on the HW19200 during long shifts is the result of combined continuous wireless polling and repeated scan-trigger draw inside a compact enclosed housing with limited airflow. The battery itself generates some heat under sustained current draw, and that heat has nowhere to go. It is normal at moderate temperatures — if the housing becomes hot to the touch rather than warm, check that the cradle charge contacts are clean, as a high-resistance charging connection can add heat to the pack even while in use.

My old battery lasted a full shift — this one seems to drop faster near the end of the day. What's happening?

Lithium-ion cells discharge in a relatively flat curve until the final 10–15% of capacity, then voltage drops sharply. If the scanner's low-battery indicator is appearing sooner than expected, check whether the device's battery gauge has recalibrated to the new pack. Run two full charge and discharge cycles in the cradle — the scanner's BMS recalculates its state-of-charge model against the actual cell, and the gauge reading typically stabilises to reflect the full 3600mAh capacity after that.
