Battery Care Tips
Battery Care Tips
🔹 Getting Started
Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.
🔹 Keep It Healthy
Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.
Delivery and Shipping
Delivery and Shipping
🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Casio IT-G400 — 3.85V Li-ion Replacement Battery (HA-R21LBAT)
This is a 3.85V 5800mAh Li-ion battery for the Casio IT-G400 handheld barcode scanner. It matches OEM part number HA-R21LBAT and fits directly into the IT-G400's battery bay. The IT-G400 is used across retail and warehouse environments for continuous scanning and inventory work.
- IT-G400 platform fit: The IT-G400 runs a 3.85V power rail and uses a BMS handshake that expects a specific charge profile. This pack matches that voltage and communicates correctly with the onboard battery management circuit — no false low-battery alerts or charge rejection at the dock.
- Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this pack through repeated scan-trigger and wireless radio loads — the two highest simultaneous draws the IT-G400 produces. The BMS held stable through each burst without tripping into protective cutoff.
- First-shift preparation: After installing, seat the scanner in its cradle and run a full charge before the first pick-and-pack shift. Scan trigger inrush is highest when the cell sits near minimum charge — a fully charged pack prevents the BMS from tripping on the very first trigger pull of the day.
Cradle showing a charging error on a new pack
A charging error on a fresh pack is almost always a contact issue, not a battery fault. The IT-G400 cradle reads pack state through gold pogo pins — any oxidation or debris on the pack's contact pads raises resistance enough to trigger an error flag. Remove the pack, wipe the contacts on both the battery and the cradle with a dry cloth, then reseat firmly. If the error clears within 30 seconds, contact resistance was the cause.
Scanner losing wireless connection during rapid scan bursts
During a fast scan sequence, the IT-G400 fires the imager and transmits data over Wi-Fi or Bluetooth simultaneously. That combined inrush can pull the pack voltage down sharply if the cell is partially discharged. The radio stack drops connection first — it has a lower minimum voltage threshold than the scanner's CPU. Start shifts with a fully charged pack and check that the battery indicator reads above 40% before any high-frequency scan run.

Frequently Asked Questions
My IT-G400 won't read barcodes after I swapped the battery — scanner powers on but the trigger does nothing
The imager needs a minimum voltage to fire reliably, and a new pack shipped in storage state may sit too low to trigger it even though the device appears on. Place the scanner in the cradle and charge it fully before attempting any scanning. Once the pack reaches a full charge, the imager will have the voltage headroom it needs. If the trigger still fails after a full charge, check that the battery connector is fully seated in the bay.
The IT-G400 runs noticeably warm after a long warehouse shift — is that normal with this battery?
Sustained heat during a full shift is expected given what the IT-G400 does simultaneously — continuous scanning plus active wireless polling inside an enclosed plastic housing with limited airflow. The 5800mAh cell handles the combined draw without thermal cutoff, but surface warmth is normal. If the unit becomes hot enough to be uncomfortable to hold, check whether the wireless polling interval is set aggressively in your MDM software, as reducing scan frequency lowers the combined thermal load. Anything beyond warm-to-the-touch warrants checking the cradle contacts and BMS status.
New battery drains faster than expected compared to the old one in the first week
Li-ion cells fresh from storage often show lower apparent capacity in the first few charge cycles because the electrodes haven't fully activated. Run two to three full charge-and-discharge cycles through normal scanning use before judging shift endurance. Scan burst frequency and wireless polling both consume significantly more power than standby, so capacity appears lower on heavy scan days regardless of battery condition. If capacity doesn't stabilise after three cycles, check that the cradle is delivering a full charge — measure the pack voltage after a full charge session and confirm it reads at or above 3.85V per cell.
