Fits RGIS Guia RM2 handheld barcode scanner; replaces OEM part number 1-66-0002-0003.
3.7V and 1150mAh capacity deliver full-shift power for wireless scan operations and real-time inventory data transmission.
Connector slides vertically into scanner battery slot with single locking tab; no force needed on insertion.
We bench-tested this cell in the Guia RM2 dock — BMS accepted the pack on first charge cycle without fault codes.
After installing, place the scanner in its cradle for one full charge cycle before opening it for pick-and-pack shifts to prevent false BMS cutoff during high-inrush scan trigger bursts.

Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

RGIS Guia RM2 — 3.7V Li-ion Replacement Battery (1-66-0002-0003)

This 3.7V 1150mAh Li-ion battery replaces OEM part 1-66-0002-0003 in the RGIS Guia RM2 handheld barcode scanner. The Guia RM2 is a mobile inventory and asset tracking device used in retail and warehouse environments. This pack matches the original voltage, capacity, and physical footprint of the factory cell.

  • Guia RM2 compatibility: The RM2 uses a single-cell 3.7V Li-ion architecture with a compact 39.35 × 35.62 × 22.85mm envelope. The BMS handshake and connector pinout match this exact form factor — no adapter or modification needed.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this pack through the RM2's combined wireless radio and scan trigger load profile. The BMS held charge through rapid scan bursts without tripping on inrush, and the protection circuit responded correctly to low-voltage cutoff.
  • First-shift preparation: After installing, seat the scanner in its cradle and run a full charge cycle before taking it to the floor. Scan trigger inrush current peaks when the cell sits near minimum charge, and a full cell prevents false BMS trips at the start of a pick-and-pack shift.

Cradle showing a charging error on a new pack

The RM2 cradle reads contact resistance at the charge pins before it opens the charge circuit. A new pack often has slight oxidation or residue on the gold contacts from packaging. If the dock flashes an error immediately on a new battery, wipe the contacts on both the pack and the cradle with a dry lint-free cloth and reseat firmly. The error clears once contact resistance drops below the dock's detection threshold.

Scanner losing wireless connection during rapid scan bursts

The Guia RM2 draws simultaneously from its wireless radio and scan engine during a burst scan sequence. On a degraded or deeply discharged cell, combined inrush can pull pack voltage below the radio module's minimum operating threshold, dropping the connection mid-scan. This is not a radio fault — it is a voltage sag event. Charge the pack fully before the shift and verify the cell reads at or above 3.7V open-circuit before use.

Frequently Asked Questions

The scanner reads barcodes fine with the old battery but misses or fails to trigger with the new one installed — what's wrong?

A new cell shipped in storage state can sit below 3.5V, which is under the scan engine's minimum operating voltage on the RM2. The imager or laser needs stable voltage to fire correctly, and a low cell causes intermittent trigger failures that look like a hardware fault. Place the scanner in the cradle and charge fully before the first scan session. Once the pack reaches 4.1–4.2V, trigger response returns to normal.

The scanner runs noticeably warmer than usual after a long shift — is the battery the cause?

Sustained combined draw from the wireless radio and scan engine generates heat inside the RM2's enclosed housing, and that heat accumulates in the battery compartment over a long shift. A fresh pack with full capacity handles the thermal load better than a degraded cell because it doesn't have to work as hard to maintain voltage under load. If the unit feels hot to the touch rather than warm, check that the cradle vents are clear and that the scanner isn't stored in direct sunlight between uses. Normal operating temperature for the cell is up to 45°C — above that, let the unit cool before reseating it in the cradle.

After a full day off the cradle, the scanner powers on but drops off almost immediately — why?

Extended time off the cradle allows the cell to self-discharge, and if the pack sat long enough to drop below 3.0V, the BMS may have entered deep-discharge lockout to protect the cell. The scanner powers on briefly because residual surface charge is enough to boot, but the BMS cuts output before sustaining operation. Place the scanner in the cradle for at least 30 minutes without interruption — the charger applies a low-current recovery charge to bring the cell back above 3.0V before switching to normal charge rate.
