Battery Care Tips
Battery Care Tips
🔹 Getting Started
Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.
🔹 Keep It Healthy
Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.
Delivery and Shipping
Delivery and Shipping
🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

VeriFone VX675 / VX690 — 3.7V Li-ion Replacement Battery (BPK265-001)
This 3.7V Li-ion cell at 2600mAh (9.62Wh) replaces the OEM battery in the VeriFone VX675, VX690, C680, and C680 3G-BT-WiFi payment terminals. These are portable POS devices used in retail and mobile merchant environments. Voltage and capacity match the original BPK265-001 specification exactly.
- VX675, VX690, and C680 series compatibility: These terminals share the same battery bay dimensions, 3.7V power rail, and BMS handshake protocol. One cell covers the full group because the charge IC and connector pinout are common across this VeriFone portable platform.
- Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this cell through full boot sequences and live transaction loads on the VX675. The BMS accepted the handshake on first power-on, held voltage through the combined wireless, display, and printer draw without tripping overcurrent protection.
- First deployment tip: After fitting this battery, run one complete transaction — including receipt print — before deploying the terminal in a live environment. The terminal maps battery capacity during normal operation and needs at least one full power cycle to calibrate the charge indicator correctly.
Receipt printer causing voltage sag on the VX675
The thermal printer in the VX675 draws a short but sharp current spike at the moment it fires — often 600mA or more above the idle draw. On an aged or discharged cell, that spike can drag cell voltage below the BMS low-voltage threshold momentarily. The terminal interprets this as a brownout and either reboots or locks the transaction. A fresh cell at full charge has enough internal headroom to absorb that spike without tripping. If the terminal reboots specifically at the print step, check that the battery is charged above 3.9V before attributing the fault to the terminal itself.
Terminal not completing PCI boot sequence after battery swap
The VX675 runs a security self-check during every boot — part of PCI PTS compliance. If the BMS handshake has not yet been accepted by the charge IC, the terminal can stall partway through that sequence and display a tamper or power fault screen. This is not a defective battery. Connect the terminal to the charging cradle or power adapter, allow a full charge cycle to complete, then reboot. After one complete charge-to-discharge cycle the BMS registers as initialised and the boot sequence completes normally.

Frequently Asked Questions
My VX675 reboots right when printing a receipt — is the battery faulty or is it the printer?
The printer motor fires a current spike at print time that a low or degraded cell cannot absorb cleanly, so the BMS trips and the terminal reboots. We reproduced this on the bench — a fully charged fresh cell holds voltage through the spike without issue. Charge the terminal fully before testing again. If the reboot stops at a full charge, the original battery was the cause, not the printer.
The terminal got stuck mid-boot after I fitted the new battery — it shows a tamper or power fault screen and won't progress.
This happens because the VX675 PCI boot sequence checks BMS initialisation status before it completes the security self-check. A new cell that hasn't completed its first charge cycle can fail that check. Connect the terminal to the charging cradle, let it reach 100%, then power it off and back on. After that first full charge cycle the BMS registers correctly and the boot sequence clears.
My VX675 won't power on at all after sitting in a drawer for a few months — nothing happens when I press the power button.
Li-ion cells self-discharge slowly in storage, and if the cell dropped below roughly 2.5V the BMS will have shut down all output to protect the cell from damage. The terminal draws nothing in this state, so pressing power does nothing. Connect the terminal to a charger and leave it for at least 30 minutes before attempting to power on — most charge ICs will trickle-charge a deeply discharged cell back above the recovery threshold before switching to normal charge rate.
