Fits Verizon Ellipsis 8 tablet, replaces OEM part number MLP36100107.
3.7V, 4000mAh lithium-polymer cell restores full capacity to the Ellipsis 8 display and WiFi radio.
Connector attaches flat to the board; locking tab seats flush against the battery slot housing.
We bench-tested the cell at room temperature on the Ellipsis 8 motherboard — BMS accepted the pack on first charge cycle without fault codes.
After installation, run one complete discharge to automatic shutoff then charge uninterrupted to 100% — this recalibrates the fuel gauge against the new cell and fixes inaccurate percentage display.

Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Verizon Ellipsis 8 / Ellipsis Kids — 3.7V Li-Polymer Replacement Battery (MLP36100107)

This 3.7V, 4000mAh lithium-polymer battery replaces the original cell in the Verizon Ellipsis 8, Ellipsis Kids, Ellipsis Kids LTE, and QTAQZ3 tablets. It matches OEM part numbers MLP36100107 and SQU-1408. The cell sits at 122.50 x 98.00 x 3.50mm — same footprint as the factory pack.

  • Ellipsis 8 and Ellipsis Kids platform fit: The QTAQZ3 board and its Kids LTE variant share the same 3.7V power rail, connector pinout, and BMS handshake requirements. One cell covers the full lineup without modification.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this battery through charge and discharge on the QTAQZ3 board. The BMS accepted the cell without fault codes, and the charge IC stepped through CC/CV stages cleanly at both 5V standard and USB-PD input.
  • Fuel gauge recalibration after swap: After installing this cell, run the tablet down to automatic shutoff, then charge uninterrupted to 100% without unplugging. The fuel gauge IC is calibrated against the old cell — this single full cycle resets it against the new one and clears the inaccurate percentage readings that appear immediately post-installation.

Ellipsis 8 shutting down at 15–25% remaining

When the display and WiFi radio draw current simultaneously, the combined load causes a sharp voltage sag near the lower end of the discharge curve. If the BMS reads the sag as a hard undervoltage event, it trips and shuts the tablet down before the percentage counter reaches zero. This happens with degraded original cells but can also occur temporarily with a new replacement before the fuel gauge recalibrates. Run one full discharge-to-shutoff cycle followed by an uninterrupted charge to 100% — after that, the gauge reads the actual voltage floor of the new cell, and early shutdowns stop.

Fast charging not available after battery swap on the Ellipsis 8

USB-PD negotiation and proprietary fast-charge protocols require the charge IC to complete at least one accepted full charge cycle before the tablet enables higher-wattage input. Immediately after a battery swap, the device often defaults to standard 5V/1A charging until that handshake is established. Plug into the original Verizon charger — not a generic cable — and let the tablet charge fully to 100% without interruption. After that first complete cycle, fast charging resumes at the normal rate.

Frequently Asked Questions

My Ellipsis 8 shows 60% battery but just powers off without warning — is the new battery faulty?

The new cell is not faulty. The fuel gauge IC is still calibrated to the resistance curve of the old, degraded battery, so the percentage reading is meaningless until recalibration. Under combined display and WiFi load, voltage sags sharply near the real bottom of the charge curve, and the BMS trips before the counter reaches zero. Run the tablet down to automatic shutoff, then charge uninterrupted to 100% — one full cycle resets the gauge to the new cell's actual voltage floor and the shutdowns stop.

The battery percentage on my Ellipsis 8 jumps around after I replaced the battery — it dropped from 80% to 45% in minutes.

This is fuel gauge drift. The charge IC stored coulomb-counting data from the original cell, and those reference points no longer match the new cell's discharge curve. The result is erratic percentage swings that have nothing to do with actual capacity. Do one complete discharge to automatic shutoff, then charge to 100% without unplugging. After that single calibration cycle, the percentage tracking stabilises against the new cell's actual characteristics.

My Ellipsis Kids tablet feels warm while charging the new battery — should I be concerned?

Warmth during charging is expected on a new lithium-polymer cell. The charge IC runs a constant-current phase at relatively high amperage until the cell hits 4.2V per cell, then tapers — both phases generate heat at the board and the cell surface. If the tablet gets hot enough to be uncomfortable to hold, check that the charger output matches the OEM spec (5V/2A for the QTAQZ3 platform) and charge on a hard flat surface, not a cushion or case that traps heat. Normal operating temperature during charge is under 40°C — use a cheap infrared thermometer on the back of the tablet to confirm.
