Battery Care Tips
Battery Care Tips
🔹 Getting Started
Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.
🔹 Keep It Healthy
Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.
Delivery and Shipping
Delivery and Shipping
🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Verizon SCH-R720 Fascinate — 3.7V Li-ion Replacement Battery (EB504465LA)
This is a 3.7V Li-ion cell rated at 1700mAh (6.29Wh), built to the same form factor as the original EB504465LA. It fits the Samsung SCH-R720 Fascinate, Admire, and Vitality variants on the Verizon network. The cell slots directly into the standard battery bay with no modification.
- SCH-R720 variant compatibility: The Fascinate, Admire, and Vitality all share the same battery bay dimensions, connector pinout, and 3.7V nominal rail. One cell covers all three because Samsung used the same hardware platform across each variant.
- Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this cell through full charge and discharge on the SCH-R720 platform. The BMS handed off charge termination correctly at 4.2V and held protection trip thresholds in range at the low-voltage cutoff.
- Fuel gauge recalibration on first use: After fitting this cell, run one complete discharge down to auto-shutoff, then charge uninterrupted to 100% before normal use. The SCH-R720 fuel gauge IC carries the old cell's discharge curve in memory — this single cycle overwrites it so percentage readings track accurately.
Sudden shutdown at 20–30% on the SCH-R720 after a cell swap
The SCH-R720's processor, modem, and AMOLED display pull current simultaneously during active use. A new cell with a slightly different discharge curve can hit a voltage cliff under that combined load while the fuel gauge still reads 20–30%. The phone cuts out because actual cell voltage drops below the protection threshold, even though the coulomb counter hasn't reached zero. One full calibration cycle — full discharge to shutoff, full charge to 100% — aligns the fuel gauge IC to the new cell's actual curve and eliminates the early cutoff.
Phone warm near the battery compartment on first few charges
A fresh Li-ion cell has higher internal impedance than a broken-in one. During the first two or three charge cycles, the charge IC pushes current into that higher-impedance cell, and some energy converts to heat rather than stored charge. This is normal and subsides as the cell's impedance drops with cycling. If the back of the phone feels hot rather than warm, or if charging stops unexpectedly, check that the battery contacts are seated flat and free of debris before charging again.

Frequently Asked Questions
The SCH-R720 shuts off at around 25% after I put in the new battery — is the cell faulty?
The cell is almost certainly fine. The fuel gauge IC on the SCH-R720 is still using the discharge curve it mapped from the old, degraded cell. When the new cell hits a voltage dip under modem and screen load, the phone cuts power even though the counter still shows charge remaining. Run one full discharge to auto-shutoff followed by an uninterrupted charge to 100% — the coulomb counter resets to the new cell's curve and the early shutoff stops.
The battery percentage on my SCH-R720 keeps jumping around — it read 60%, then went to 45%, then back to 55% in ten minutes.
Erratic percentage jumps happen when the fuel gauge IC is actively recalibrating against a cell it hasn't seen before. The IC interpolates state-of-charge from voltage and current data, and until it has a complete discharge curve for the new cell, the readings drift. Complete one full uninterrupted discharge to shutoff, then charge straight to 100% without unplugging. After that single cycle the IC has enough data to track the cell accurately and the jumping stops.
My SCH-R720 won't turn on at all after the replacement battery sat in a drawer for a few months before I installed it.
Li-ion cells self-discharge in storage. If this cell dropped below 2.5V during storage, the BMS entered lockout mode to prevent damage — and the phone will show nothing when you press power. Plug the phone into a wall charger and leave it connected for at least 20–30 minutes before attempting to power on. The charge IC trickle-charges the cell back above the BMS re-enable threshold, typically around 2.9V, at which point the BMS unlocks and the phone will boot normally.
