Battery Care Tips
Battery Care Tips
🔹 Getting Started
Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.
🔹 Keep It Healthy
Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.
Delivery and Shipping
Delivery and Shipping
🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Samsung SCH-R940 / Conquer 4G — 3.7V Li-ion Replacement Battery (EB504465VU)
This is a 3.7V, 1700mAh Li-ion cell built to fit the Samsung SCH-R940, SCH-R940 4G LTE, Conquer 4G, and the Tikal platform variants. It replaces OEM part numbers including EB504465VU, EB504465VK, and EB504465LA. If the original cell no longer holds charge through a normal day of calls, messaging, and app use, this cell swaps in directly.
- SCH-R940 platform compatibility: The SCH-R940, Conquer 4G, and Tikal variants share the same connector pinout, BMS handshake protocol, and 3.7V nominal rail. A single cell covers all of them without adapter or modification.
- Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this cell through the SCH-R940 charge IC and confirmed the BMS handshake completed correctly on first insertion. The protection circuit responded to both overvoltage and undervoltage cutoff at expected thresholds.
- Fuel gauge recalibration after cell swap: On first use after installation, disable fast charging and run one complete discharge-charge cycle. This gives the fuel gauge IC time to map its coulomb counter against the new cell's actual discharge curve before any high-current charge session begins.
Sudden shutdown at 20–30% on the SCH-R940 after a cell swap
The SCH-R940's fuel gauge IC stores a learned discharge curve from the old cell. When a new cell goes in, that learned curve no longer matches reality. The phone thinks 20–30% remains, but the new cell's actual voltage under modem or screen load drops below the shutdown threshold faster than the IC predicts. The fix is one full discharge to near 0% followed by an uninterrupted charge to 100%. After that cycle, the coulomb counter resets against the new cell and percentage readings stabilise.
Phone warm near the battery compartment on the first charge after replacement
A brand-new cell has higher internal impedance than a broken-in one. On the first charge cycle, the charge IC pushes current into that higher-impedance cell, which converts more energy to heat than normal. This is expected behaviour and not a fault. Warmth — not heat — during the first one or two cycles is normal. If the back panel becomes hot enough to be uncomfortable after the second full charge, check that the replacement part number matches EB504465VU exactly, as a mis-matched cell can present an incorrect impedance profile to the charge IC.

Frequently Asked Questions
My SCH-R940 won't turn on after sitting in a drawer for a few months — is the new battery dead?
The BMS locks out below roughly 2.5V per cell to prevent damage, and a cell in storage self-discharges over time until it trips that cutoff. Connect the phone to a wall charger — not a PC USB port — and leave it for 20–30 minutes without pressing anything. Most BMS circuits re-initialise once the charger pushes the cell voltage back above the recovery threshold, and the phone will boot normally. If the screen shows no charge indicator after 30 minutes, try a different charging cable before assuming the cell is faulty.
The battery percentage on my SCH-R940 keeps jumping around erratically after I installed the replacement cell — what's causing that?
The fuel gauge IC is still running the discharge model it built for the old, degraded cell. When the new cell's voltage doesn't match those predictions, the IC corrects in visible jumps rather than smoothly. Run one complete uninterrupted discharge — use the phone normally until it shuts off automatically — then charge straight to 100% without unplugging early. After that single calibration cycle, the coulomb counter maps to the new cell and the percentage readout tracks correctly.
Fast charging stopped working on my SCH-R940 right after I swapped the battery — it only charges slowly now.
The phone's charge IC negotiates fast-charge current with the BMS on the new cell during the first cycle. If the BMS doesn't complete that handshake correctly on the first attempt — which can happen if the phone was powered off during installation — the IC defaults to standard 500mA charging as a safe fallback. Power the phone fully off, remove the battery for 10 seconds, reinsert it, and then connect the charger while the phone is switched on. This forces a fresh BMS handshake and allows the charge IC to renegotiate the higher current profile.
