Fits Vodafone Smart E8 and VFD511, VFD513 models; replaces OEM Li3822T43p4h736040.
3.8V and 2100mAh capacity delivers stable voltage to modem and display without sag under load.
Connector slides straight in; locking tab seats flush against the battery door contact spring.
We ran full discharge cycles on the bench; BMS accepted charge without protection faults or cutoff delays.
On first use after installation, disable fast charging for one complete discharge-charge cycle — this lets the fuel gauge IC recalibrate against the new cell discharge curve before high-current charging.

Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Vodafone Smart E8 / VFD511 / VFD513 — 3.8V Li-ion Replacement Battery (Li3822T43p4h736040)

This is a 3.8V, 2100mAh (7.98Wh) Li-ion cell built to OEM part number Li3822T43p4h736040. It fits the Vodafone Smart E8, VFD511, VFD513, and Smart N8, among others. If the original cell is swollen, dead, or draining inside a day, this is the direct swap.

  • VFD511 / VFD513 / Smart N8 platform fit: These models share the same 3.8V power rail, connector pinout, and charge IC handshake. One cell covers all of them without any wiring changes.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We ran this cell through charge and discharge on the Smart E8 platform. The BMS accepted the charge IC handshake on the first cycle. Cutoff voltage held at the expected floor under screen and modem load.
  • Fuel gauge recalibration on first use: On first use after installation, disable fast charging and run one full discharge-to-charge cycle. The fuel gauge IC is still calibrated to the old cell's discharge curve. One full cycle lets it map the new cell before fast charging pushes high current into an uncalibrated state.

Sudden shutdown at 20–30% on the Smart E8 after a cell swap

This happens when the fuel gauge IC is still reading the old cell's voltage curve. The phone thinks it has 25% left, but the new cell hits its voltage floor under modem or screen load and the BMS cuts out. It is not a faulty battery. The fuel gauge coulomb counter needs a full reference cycle to learn the new cell's actual capacity endpoints. Run the phone down to automatic shutdown, charge uninterrupted to 100%, and the shutdowns should stop. If they persist after two full cycles, check that the connector is fully seated — a loose pin creates a voltage drop that mimics a capacity cliff.

Phone stays at 0% and won't power on after the replacement cell sat in storage

Li-ion cells self-discharge in storage. If the cell dropped below roughly 2.5V, the BMS enters lockout to prevent damage and will not pass current to the board. Plug in a known-good charger and leave it connected for 15–20 minutes before pressing the power button — the charge IC needs time to trickle enough voltage into the cell to release the BMS lockout. If the phone still won't respond, check the charger output at the port; you need at least 5V DC reaching the charge IC to trigger recovery.

Frequently Asked Questions

Why does my Vodafone Smart E8 show the wrong battery percentage after I put in the new cell?

The fuel gauge IC was calibrated to the discharge curve of the old cell. When a new cell goes in, the coulomb counter carries over the old reference points, so the percentage on screen no longer matches the actual charge state. Run one complete cycle — drain to automatic shutdown, then charge uninterrupted to 100% — and the IC will remap its endpoints to the new cell. After two full cycles the percentage should track accurately.

Fast charging stopped working on my Smart E8 right after I swapped the battery — what's wrong?

On the first cycle after a cell swap, the charge IC sometimes won't negotiate fast charge because the new BMS hasn't yet confirmed cell state to the protocol handler. This is normal behaviour, not a fault. Charge once at standard rate to 100%, let the phone sit on charge for a further five minutes after the indicator shows full, then unplug and reboot. Fast charging typically re-enables on the next plug-in once the BMS has logged a completed cycle.

My Smart E8 feels warm near the back where the battery sits while it's charging — is the new cell faulty?

A new high-impedance cell generates slightly more heat during the first few charge cycles than a broken-in one. The charge IC is pushing current into a cell with higher internal resistance, and that difference converts to heat. It should reduce noticeably after three to five full charge cycles as the cell's impedance drops. If the phone still feels hot to the touch — above what you'd expect holding it — check that the battery connector is fully flat and that no debris is between the cell and the back cover trapping heat.
