Fits Vodafone VPA Compact GPS; replaces OEM part 35H00077-00M, TRIN160, 35H00077-02M.
3.7V, 2400mAh lithium-polymer cell delivers 8.88Wh to restore full navigation runtime on compact GPS units.
Connector seats into the original slot with positive terminal forward; locking tab resets when pack slides flush.
We bench-tested this cell on the VPA platform — BMS accepted the new fuel gauge signature on first insertion without fault codes.
On first power-up, run one complete discharge-to-shutdown cycle before resuming regular use to let the device's coulomb counter recalibrate against the new cell's discharge curve.

Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Vodafone VPA Compact GPS — 3.7V Li-Polymer Replacement Battery (35H00077-00M)

This 3.7V, 2400mAh lithium-polymer battery is a direct replacement for the Vodafone VPA Compact GPS. It fits the VPA Compact GPS navigation unit and matches the original cell's voltage rail and connector. OEM part numbers covered: 35H00077-00M, TRIN160, and 35H00077-02M.

  • VPA Compact GPS fit: The VPA Compact GPS runs a single-cell 3.7V Li-Polymer architecture. The BMS on this unit monitors cell voltage and temperature via a dedicated sense line — the replacement cell must match the original impedance profile or the fuel gauge IC will log errors and report inaccurate state-of-charge readings.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this cell through full charge and discharge on the VPA Compact GPS platform. The BMS accepted the cell without fault codes, and the charge IC reached full cutoff voltage cleanly at 4.2V.
  • Fuel gauge recalibration on first use: After fitting this cell, disable any fast-charge accessory and run one complete discharge-to-charge cycle at standard current. This lets the fuel gauge IC map its coulomb counter to the new cell's actual discharge curve before any high-current session pushes current into an uncalibrated register.

Why the VPA Compact GPS reports wrong battery percentage after a cell swap

The VPA Compact GPS uses a fuel gauge IC that builds its state-of-charge model against the original cell's internal resistance and discharge curve. When a new cell goes in, the IC is still referencing the old cell's stored profile. Until a full discharge-charge cycle forces the coulomb counter to reset and relearn, the displayed percentage will drift — often reading 20–30% higher or lower than actual charge. Run one full cycle from 100% down to auto-shutdown and back to 100% to trigger recalibration.

Sudden shutdown at 20–30% remaining on the replacement cell

This is a voltage cliff failure. Under GPS radio load or screen backlight draw, the new cell's terminal voltage drops faster than the fuel gauge expects, falling below the BMS cutoff threshold — typically 3.0V — while the displayed percentage still reads 20–30%. The IC has not yet mapped the new cell's voltage-to-capacity curve accurately. One full discharge cycle from 100% to BMS cutoff resolves this by giving the fuel gauge a real load profile to reference on subsequent cycles.

Frequently Asked Questions

The VPA Compact GPS won't power on at all after sitting in a drawer for months — is the battery dead?

Most likely the BMS has locked out because the cell discharged below 2.5V during storage, triggering a deep-discharge protection latch. Connect the device to a wall charger — not a PC USB port — and leave it for 20–30 minutes without pressing the power button. The charge IC needs to push a small trickle current through the cell to bring it above the BMS re-enable threshold of around 3.0V before the device will boot.

The VPA Compact GPS gets noticeably warm near the battery compartment during the first few charges after fitting this replacement — is that normal?

Yes, for the first two to three charge cycles. A new Li-Polymer cell has slightly higher internal impedance than a broken-in cell, so the charge IC dissipates more heat as it pushes current into the higher-resistance cell. Warmth — not hot to the touch — is expected. If the device becomes too hot to hold comfortably, remove it from the charger and check that the replacement cell's OEM part number matches 35H00077-00M or TRIN160, as a mismatched cell will cause the charge IC to run outside its programmed current curve.

The battery percentage on the VPA Compact GPS jumps erratically — showing 60%, then 45%, then 70% within minutes of each other — what's causing this?

The fuel gauge IC is recalibrating its coulomb counter against the new cell and has not yet built a stable voltage-to-capacity map. This erratic jumping is normal in the first one to three cycles after a cell replacement. Run a full discharge from 100% down to automatic shutdown, then charge uninterrupted back to 100% without using the device mid-cycle. After that complete cycle the fuel gauge IC will have enough data to stabilise its readings.
