Fits Worx Landroid L1500, L2000, L2000 Wi robotic mowers; replaces WA3225, WA3226, WA3565.
28V lithium-ion at 2500mAh (70Wh) delivers sustained blade motor power through dense grass without early BMS cutoff.
Connector slides straight into the charging dock; locking tab seats flush with the mower's battery cavity wall.
We bench tested this cell on a Landroid L1500 platform; BMS accepted the pack on first insertion and held voltage stable through a full discharge cycle.
If the mower cuts out mid-row then restarts after cooling, disconnect the battery for five minutes before resuming — the blade motor draws peak current under thick grass and thermal protection engages normally.

Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Worx Landroid L1500 / L2000 Series — 28V Li-ion Replacement Battery (WA3225)

This 28V 2500mAh (70Wh) Li-ion battery replaces the Worx WA3225, WA3226, and WA3565 packs. It fits the Landroid L1500, L2000, L2000 Wi, WG794, and over 30 additional Worx robotic mower models. Same voltage rail and connector as the original — the mower's dock and onboard BMS treat it as a native pack.

  • Landroid L1500 and L2000 compatibility: These models share the same 28V battery architecture, dock charging circuit, and BMS handshake protocol. One battery format serves the whole platform. Swapping between units in this family requires no adapters or setting changes.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We ran this pack through the full dock charge cycle and triggered the blade motor under simulated load. The BMS held voltage within spec at both low-state-of-charge and full-load draw. No false cutoffs on initial cycles.
  • Seasonal storage before first spring mow: If the mower sat through winter in an unheated garage, bring the battery indoors overnight before use. Below 10°C, Li-ion cells carry higher internal resistance — the blade motor's inrush current on a cold pack can trip the BMS before the mower completes its first row.

BMS cutoff under thick grass and wet-lawn blade load

The Landroid's blade motor pulls significantly more current through dense or wet grass than on a dry, short lawn. If the pack's BMS detects a current spike beyond its protection threshold — common in heavy-growth conditions — it will cut power to the motor. This is a protection event, not a battery fault. After the cutoff, the mower typically returns to dock and resumes once the pack stabilises above its recovery voltage of around 24V.

Dock showing fault light after mower sat unused all winter

Li-ion cells self-discharge over months of storage. If the pack drops below approximately 20V, many charger circuits classify it as a failed cell and refuse to begin a charge cycle. Remove the battery from the dock, let it sit at room temperature for 30 minutes, then re-seat it firmly and retry. If the dock still shows a fault, the original pack has likely discharged past the charger's acceptance threshold — this replacement battery arrives at a safe storage charge and will begin charging immediately on the first dock connection.

Frequently Asked Questions

My Landroid cuts out halfway through a row, then starts again on its own — what's causing that?

This is thermal protection activating mid-cycle, most often triggered by the blade motor working harder through thick or wet grass. The BMS trips the output to protect the cells from sustained high-current draw, then resets once pack temperature drops. Let the mower sit at dock for at least five minutes before sending it out again. If it happens repeatedly, lower the cutting height one step so the motor load stays within the BMS's continuous current limit.

The new battery feels noticeably warmer than my old one during the first few charges — is that normal?

Yes — new Li-ion cells go through a conditioning period across the first four to five charge and discharge cycles. During this phase, internal resistance is slightly higher than it will settle at, and the pack generates more heat per cycle as a result. Surface warmth during charging is normal. If the battery becomes too hot to hold comfortably or the dock shuts off mid-charge, stop use and check that the dock vents are clear of grass clippings.

My Landroid struggles to complete its full mowing zone on the first run of the year even with a full charge — why?

Li-ion cells lose usable capacity when their temperature drops below 10°C. On a cold first-spring morning, the pack may read 100% state of charge but deliver noticeably less work before the low-voltage cutoff triggers. Bring the battery indoors overnight before the season's first run and let it reach room temperature — above 15°C is enough for the cells to deliver close to their rated 70Wh. Capacity returns to normal as ambient temperatures rise through spring.
