Battery Care Tips
Battery Care Tips
🔹 Getting Started
Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.
🔹 Keep It Healthy
Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping
🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Xiaomi Redmi Note 9 — 3.85V Li-Polymer Replacement Battery (BN54)
This is a 3.85V, 4800mAh Li-Polymer replacement battery for the Xiaomi Redmi Note 9, Redmi 10X 4G, M2003J15SC, and M2003J15SS. It replaces OEM part number BN54 when the original cell degrades or fails completely. Swapping this battery restores full device function — calls, display, apps, and charging — without replacing the phone.
- Note 9 and Redmi 10X 4G platform fit: These models share the same 3.85V power rail, BN54 connector footprint, and BMS handshake protocol. The same cell and flex cable layout applies across M2003J15SC and M2003J15SS variants, so one SKU covers the full range.
- Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this cell through charge, load, and cutoff on a Note 9 unit. The BMS accepted the cell without flagging a fault, fast charge negotiation engaged on the second cycle, and low-voltage cutoff triggered correctly at the expected floor.
- First-cycle fuel gauge recalibration: On first use after installation, disable fast charging and run one complete discharge-charge cycle at standard rate. This lets the fuel gauge IC map the new cell's discharge curve before high-current charging pushes current into an uncalibrated state — preventing percentage jumps and early shutdowns from the first day.
Sudden shutdown at 20–30% on the Redmi Note 9 after a cell swap
The Redmi Note 9's fuel gauge IC holds a learned discharge curve from the original cell. When a new BN54 cell goes in, the IC still references the old curve and misjudges the voltage cliff. Under modem or screen load, the new cell's voltage drops faster than the IC predicts — and the phone shuts down before the displayed percentage reaches zero. One full slow charge-discharge cycle rewrites the coulomb counter's reference baseline. After that cycle, the shutdowns stop and the reported percentage tracks the actual cell voltage correctly.
Phone not powering on after the BN54 sat in storage below 2.5V
Li-Polymer cells below roughly 2.5V per cell trigger a BMS lockout — the protection circuit cuts output entirely to prevent damage, and a normal charger handshake won't start. The Note 9 shows no charging indicator and does not respond to the power button. Connect the phone to a charger and leave it untouched for 15–20 minutes — the charge IC trickle-charges the cell at a low rate until it climbs back above the BMS re-enable threshold, typically around 2.8–3.0V. Once the screen shows a charging icon, normal charging resumes.

Frequently Asked Questions
My Redmi Note 9 shows 25% and just cuts off dead — is that the new BN54 cell or the phone?
That's the fuel gauge IC, not a faulty cell. It's still running the discharge curve it learned from the old battery, so it misjudges when the new cell's voltage will drop under load. Run one full discharge down to automatic shutdown, then charge uninterrupted to 100% at standard (non-fast) charge speed. After that single calibration cycle, the shutdowns stop.
Fast charging isn't working on the Note 9 after I fitted the replacement battery — wall adapter is the same one I always used.
On the first charge cycle after a cell swap, the USB-PD or Xiaomi fast-charge protocol sometimes doesn't handshake correctly because the BMS flags the cell as unverified. Let the phone complete one full standard-rate charge to 100% without interruption. On the next charge, plug in the same fast-charge adapter — the protocol negotiation completes normally once the BMS has logged the first full cycle.
The battery percentage is jumping around erratically — goes from 60% to 45% and back up without charging.
The coulomb counter inside the Note 9 is recalibrating against the new BN54 cell's actual charge state, and the mismatch causes the percentage to bounce. This is normal for the first two or three cycles after a cell replacement. Avoid interrupting charges mid-cycle during this period — let each charge run from whatever level the phone reports to 100%. The jumping settles once the fuel gauge IC has enough complete cycle data to lock onto the correct curve.
