Battery Care Tips
Battery Care Tips
🔹 Getting Started
Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.
🔹 Keep It Healthy
Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping
🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

BBK Vivo Y50 / 1935 — 3.85V Li-Polymer Replacement Battery
This is a 3.85V, 4800mAh Li-Polymer replacement battery for the Vivo Y50 (model 1935). It replaces a degraded or failed original cell and restores power to the device's processor, display, and wireless radios. Dimensions are 88.10 × 63.55 × 4.85mm — confirm your existing cell matches before fitting.
- Vivo Y50 / 1935 compatibility: Both the Y50 and its internal board designation 1935 share the same battery bay dimensions, connector pinout, and BMS handshake protocol — one cell fits both references without modification.
- Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this cell through full charge and load discharge on a Y50 unit. The BMS accepted charge current without fault flags, and the protection circuit tripped correctly at low-voltage threshold — no thermal runaway events across the test run.
- Fuel gauge recalibration on first use: On first use after installation, disable fast charging and run one complete discharge-charge cycle at standard current. This lets the fuel gauge IC map the new cell's discharge curve before the coulomb counter starts reporting to the OS — skipping this step causes erratic percentage readings in the first few days.
Sudden shutdown at 20–30% on the Vivo Y50 after a cell swap
This happens because the fuel gauge IC still holds the discharge curve of the old, degraded cell. When the new cell hits a voltage point the IC wasn't expecting, it interprets remaining capacity incorrectly. Under high-draw moments — mobile data, screen at full brightness, GPS active — the actual cell voltage drops faster than the reported percentage suggests. The fix is one full discharge to auto-off followed by a full uninterrupted charge, which forces the coulomb counter to resync to the new cell's actual voltage floor.
USB-PD or Vivo FlashCharge not activating on the replacement cell's first cycle
Fast charging protocols on the Y50 require a handshake between the charge IC and the battery's BMS before elevated current is allowed. On a fresh cell, the BMS often defaults to slow-charge mode on the first cycle as a protection measure — this is normal behaviour, not a fault. Plug into the original Vivo charger and cable, not a third-party adapter, and let the first cycle complete at standard rate. Fast charging typically activates from the second cycle onward once the BMS clears its initial check.

Frequently Asked Questions
My Vivo Y50 powers off at around 25% after fitting the new battery — is something wrong with the cell?
Nothing is wrong with the cell itself. The fuel gauge IC on the Y50 is still calibrated to the discharge curve of the old battery, so it misreads the new cell's voltage under load and triggers an early shutdown. Run one full discharge to auto-off, then charge uninterrupted to 100% without pulling the cable early. That single cycle forces the coulomb counter to recalibrate against the new cell, and the early shutoffs stop.
The battery percentage on my Y50 keeps jumping around — it shows 60%, then drops to 41%, then climbs back up.
Erratic percentage jumps happen because the fuel gauge IC has no accurate model of the new cell yet — it's guessing based on voltage snapshots rather than a mapped discharge curve. This is a calibration issue, not a hardware fault. Do one slow, uninterrupted discharge-to-zero followed by a full charge to 100% at standard charging speed. The jumping settles once the IC has one complete reference cycle logged.
My Vivo Y50 won't power on at all after the replacement battery sat in a drawer for a few weeks before installation.
If the cell voltage dropped below approximately 2.5V during storage, the BMS entered lockout mode to prevent over-discharge damage — and the phone will show no sign of life. Plug into the original Vivo charger and leave it connected for 20–30 minutes without pressing the power button. The charge IC will trickle current into the cell to bring it above the BMS recovery threshold, after which normal charging and startup resume.
