Battery Care Tips
Battery Care Tips
🔹 Getting Started
Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.
🔹 Keep It Healthy
Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping
🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Yeacomm M60 / S10 / S11 / S12 Series — 7.4V Li-ion Replacement Battery (Z2000)
This is a 7.4V 3350mAh Li-ion replacement battery for the Yeacomm M60, S10, S11, and S12 portable cable modems. It slots into the battery bay on these devices and provides backup power when mains supply drops. The OEM part number is Z2000.
- M60 / S10 / S11 / S12 compatibility: These four models share the same battery form factor, voltage rail, and connector pinout. The Z2000 part number covers all of them because the modem firmware reads the same BMS handshake across the series.
- Bench tested on actual hardware: We ran this cell through charge cycles on the M60 and monitored BMS communication with the modem firmware. The battery registers correctly and the modem transitions to backup power without tripping a fault state.
- First-use charge requirement: After installation, leave the modem plugged into mains power for at least four hours before testing backup function. The modem firmware will not commission the battery for emergency use until it completes its initial charge acceptance sequence — skipping this step is the leading cause of failed backup tests post-swap.
Modem showing battery error light after swapping the Z2000
A battery fault indicator immediately after installation is not a sign of a defective cell. Yeacomm firmware runs a charge-state verification routine when it detects a new battery and will hold a fault flag until the cell reaches a threshold voltage — typically around 8.2V at full charge. This process can take up to 24 hours on the first cycle. Do not pull the battery or reset the modem during this window; let the charge cycle complete and the error will clear on its own.
VoIP calls dropping during a power outage while data stays up
Cable modems like the M60 prioritise DOCSIS data when battery current is limited. VoIP requires a sustained higher power draw than basic data throughput, so if the battery cell is partially depleted or still in its initial charge cycle, the modem will shed VoIP load first. Check that the battery has completed a full charge cycle before the next outage test. If VoIP still drops after a confirmed full charge, measure the battery terminal voltage under load — it should hold above 6.8V; anything below that points to cell degradation.

Frequently Asked Questions
My Yeacomm M60 went through a power cut last night and the VoIP phone went dead even though the internet stayed on — did I install the battery wrong?
No installation error caused this. The M60 firmware sheds VoIP load first when battery current is constrained, and a freshly installed battery that hasn't completed its initial charge cycle can't sustain the higher draw VoIP requires. Let the modem charge the battery for a full four hours on mains before the next outage. If VoIP still drops after that, check battery terminal voltage under load — it needs to hold above 6.8V.
The battery self-test on my S11 fails every time I run it through the modem interface — is the Z2000 cell faulty?
A self-test failure within the first day of installation almost always means the firmware hasn't finished its charge acceptance sequence yet, not a defective cell. Yeacomm firmware will fail the self-test until the battery reaches its target charge state. Wait the full four-hour initial charge window, then run the self-test again. If it still fails after 24 hours on mains power, the cell may have arrived discharged below recovery threshold — try a full 12-hour charge before concluding there's a fault.
After a power outage, my Yeacomm S12 modem came back on mains power but the battery indicator light never went green again — it just blinks amber.
A blinking amber light after an outage usually means the battery discharged deeper than the BMS recovery threshold during the outage and needs a controlled recharge cycle to reset. Keep the modem connected to mains without interruption for at least eight hours. The BMS will step the cell back up from low voltage in stages rather than fast-charging it, which is why the light stays amber longer than expected. If it hasn't cleared to green after 12 hours of uninterrupted mains power, check that the battery terminal voltage reads at least 6.0V — below that, the BMS may have locked the cell out entirely.
