Battery Care Tips
Battery Care Tips
🔹 Getting Started
Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.
🔹 Keep It Healthy
Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping
🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Vocollect Talkman T2 / T2X — 7.4V Li-ion Replacement Battery (730025)
This 7.4V 2600mAh lithium-ion pack replaces the OEM battery in the Vocollect Talkman T2 and T2X voice-directed picking terminals. It fits the wearable handheld used across warehouse and distribution centre pick-and-pack operations. Confirmed compatible with OEM part numbers 730025, 730021, BT-602-1, and CWI26591.
- T2 and T2X platform fit: Both models share the same battery bay geometry, connector pinout, and BMS handshake protocol — one pack covers both terminals without modification.
- Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this pack through simulated pick-burst loads combining simultaneous wireless polling and scan trigger draws. The BMS held steady across both inrush events without tripping into protective cutoff.
- First-shift pre-charge: After installing, seat the terminal in its charging cradle and run a full charge cycle before the first shift. Scan trigger inrush current is highest when the cell sits near minimum charge — starting a shift on a fully charged cell prevents false BMS trips during the first pick run.
Why the Talkman T2 drops its wireless link during rapid scan bursts
The T2 draws from the same cell to power both the 802.11 radio and the barcode imager. During a rapid scan burst, the combined inrush from both subsystems briefly drags cell voltage below the radio's minimum operating threshold. The BMS reads this as a brownout condition and momentarily suspends output to protect the cell. A fresh, fully charged pack with low internal resistance handles the combined spike without the voltage sag that triggers the dropout.
Cradle showing a charging error immediately after fitting the new pack
This is almost always contact resistance between the dock pins and the battery terminals, not a fault in the pack itself. Oxidation or debris on either surface adds enough resistance that the cradle's charge controller reads an open circuit and throws the error. Wipe the battery contacts and the cradle pins with a dry lint-free cloth, then reseat the terminal firmly. If the error clears within 30 seconds of reseating, the pack is fine — the cell was just not making a clean connection.

Frequently Asked Questions
My Talkman T2 stops reading barcodes partway through a shift even though the battery indicator still shows charge — what's happening?
The imager needs a minimum voltage to fire reliably, and that threshold sits higher than the cutoff the battery indicator uses to show "charged." As the cell ages and internal resistance climbs, voltage sags under imager load even when resting voltage looks acceptable. A new pack with lower internal resistance maintains voltage above the imager's minimum threshold across the full draw spike. Charge the new pack fully before the first shift and the scan failures should stop.
The T2X runs noticeably warm by the end of a long pick shift — is that a battery problem?
Sustained heat in the T2X housing comes from the combined load of continuous wireless polling and repeated scan trigger events inside an enclosed shell with limited airflow. As a cell ages, rising internal resistance turns more of that draw into heat rather than usable power, which accelerates the warming effect. A replacement pack with fresh cells and lower internal resistance generates less resistive heat under the same sustained load. If the housing still runs hot after a full charge cycle on the new pack, check whether wireless polling frequency is set higher than the operation requires.
The new battery charges in the cradle but the terminal loses its paired connection to the host system after swapping packs — how do I fix this?
The Talkman T2 stores its active wireless session in volatile memory, so a full power cycle during a battery swap clears the session state. The terminal needs to re-authenticate to the host after any cold swap. Return the terminal to the cradle, allow it to reach a full charge, then power it on and allow it to complete its normal boot and pairing sequence before scanning. If pairing fails repeatedly, confirm the host server still has the terminal's device ID listed as active.
