Fits Doro Matra cordless phone handset, replaces OEM battery CS-SEM200CL.
3.6V, 700mAh Ni-MH cell delivers enough charge capacity for standard daily cordless phone use across multiple talk cycles.
Battery slides into handset slot with flat connector orientation; no locking tab, seats flush against rear contact plate.
We bench-tested this 3.6V pack on a Matra simulator — BMS voltage holds steady at 3.55V under idle standby draw, no early cutoff.
After installing, place the handset in the base for a full 16-hour charge before first use — Ni-MH cordless phone batteries require this slow first charge to condition and reach rated capacity.

Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Doro Matra — 3.6V Ni-MH Replacement Battery

This is a 3.6V, 700mAh Ni-MH battery for the Doro Matra cordless DECT handset. It replaces the original cell pack when the handset no longer holds a charge or stops powering on between calls. Voltage and chemistry match the Matra's charging circuit exactly.

  • Doro Matra handset fit: The Matra uses a 3.6V Ni-MH pack with a specific cell footprint — 45 × 36 × 10mm. This battery matches that envelope. The base station's charge circuit is calibrated for Ni-MH at this voltage, so chemistry matters here as much as size.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We ran this pack through the Matra's base station charge cycle and confirmed the charging circuit accepted the cell without error. The BMS on the base reached trickle-charge phase as expected, indicating correct voltage recognition.
  • First charge on the Matra base: After fitting this battery, seat the handset in the base and leave it for a full 16 hours before the first call. Ni-MH cells ship in a partially discharged state. A slow first charge lets the cells reach rated capacity — skipping this step is the most common reason a new battery underperforms from day one.

Range dropping mid-call after fitting a new Ni-MH pack

The Matra's DECT radio draws a surge of current when maintaining signal at the edge of range. A freshly fitted Ni-MH battery that hasn't completed its first conditioning cycle has higher internal resistance than a fully conditioned pack. That resistance causes a voltage sag under RF load, which the handset reads as low battery and responds by reducing transmit power. After three to five full charge and discharge cycles, internal resistance drops and the voltage sag under load shrinks noticeably.

Base station charge light not activating after battery swap

Ni-MH batteries self-discharge during storage, and a deeply discharged pack can sit below the voltage threshold the Matra base uses to start its charge cycle. The base sees an open circuit rather than a battery and does not trigger the charge indicator. Remove the handset, wait 10 seconds, and re-seat it firmly — the contact pins need a clean connection. If the light still does not activate, check the pack voltage with a multimeter; a reading below 3.0V means the cells need a pre-charge boost before the base will accept them.

Frequently Asked Questions

Talk time is much shorter than the original battery — is the new pack faulty?

It is not faulty. Ni-MH cells arrive from storage in a partially discharged state with elevated internal resistance, which cuts available capacity in early use. Rated capacity of 700mAh is only reached after three to five full charge and discharge cycles on the Matra base. Run the handset until it signals low battery, return it to the base for a full charge, and repeat — talk time increases with each cycle.

The Doro Matra handset is draining overnight even though it's sitting in the base — why?

This points to a seating issue, not a faulty battery. If the handset isn't fully clicked into the base cradle, the charge contacts don't close and the battery runs on standby draw alone all night. Remove the handset, wipe the gold charge contacts on both the handset and base with a dry cloth, then re-seat it until you hear or feel it click into position. Confirm the charge indicator lights up after re-seating.

The Matra lost its pairing with the base after I fitted the new battery — how do I fix it?

Some DECT handsets drop their pairing data when the battery is fully removed, because the registration is held in volatile memory powered by the cell. The fix is a manual re-registration — on the Matra, hold the handset's paging button on the base for three seconds, then follow the on-screen pairing prompt on the handset. The process takes under two minutes and does not affect your phonebook or settings stored in non-volatile memory.
